CYLINDER HEAD REMANUFACTURING

In 2011 CablePrice established a cylinder head remanufacturing facility based at it’s Christchurch operation.

With the thousands of Scania engines on the road, engine overhauls are a regular activity at many of our branches and in addition many ‘in frame’major repairs are undertaken.

Many of our branches were facing delays returning our customers vehicles back to productive earning due to time taken to have key componentsoverhauled. Coupled with this were variations in quality and pricing that were unacceptable to CablePrice. We really struggled to get a consistent product that compared with a factory re-man head at a competitive local price.

From that a decision was made to establish an in house capability and asignificant investment made in machine tools and training.

All cylinder heads are stripped, acid cleaned, washed and all items checked against manufacturer’s tolerances and the casting crack tested.

These heads are not only available to CablePrice workshops, any customercarrying out their own repairs can also purchase service exchange re-man cylinder heads, but all Scania customers in New Zealand can be sure of a quality product.
