Common = names any one of a group of persons, places, things, ideas and is NOT capitalized

Examples: city, trumpet, pencil, inventor, eagle, house, progress, culture, teacher, car, fish

Abstract = names an idea, a feeling, a quality, or a characteristic. It cannot be perceived by one of the 5 senses.

Examples: time, freedom, love, justice, happiness, courage, curiosity, trust, relaxation
