Welcome to the XXX ESVS Annual Meeting 2016 at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center
Partnership Opportunities • XXX ESVS Annual Meeting3
The ESVS Annual Meeting 2016 will be held for the second time after 1999 in the city of Copenhagen between 28 and 30 September. The City of Copenhagen is the cultural center of Northern Europe, not least with respect to arts and culinary experiences. Copenhagen is easily accessible by all transport means and local transportation is simple and short.
The venue is the Tivoli Hotel and Congress Centre in the heart of Copenhagen.
The scientific program will provide Vascular Surgeons and other Vascular Specialists with a three-day meeting on the most up to date information about new developments in clinical practice and relevant research.
Important updates and re-evaluations of the latest technologies and techniques, pharmaceutical agents, radiation protection, diagnostic modalities, and data from clinical trials will be presented and discussed. The panel of expert international speakers will present this cutting edge information as well as being available for your comments and queries. A variety of ESVS workshops will be available.
The target audience will be mostly Vascular Surgeons and Residents but also Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Medicine Specialists, vascular nurses and technologists and all others interested in the management of vascular disease.
The centrepiece of the program will be the peer reviewed presentations, selected from the best of the submitted abstracts in addition to state-of-the art lectures.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Copenhagen and hope that you will enjoy the scientific program.

The European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery
The European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (formerly the European Journal of Vascular Surgery) is now in its 28th year of publishing high quality vascular papers. While colleagues can still read papers in the monthly print version, papers can also be accessed via PC or laptop, as well as via a tablet App. Each journal issue now opens with a commissioned Editorial, which addresses a topical or controversial issue in vascular practice and which is free to access and download electronically.
Each issue also contains an ‘Editor’s Choice’ paper which is free to download, irrespective of ESVS membership status. The entire table of contents and electronic links for downloading the open access papers are included in an EJVES Highlights email which is sent out each month.
The ESVS has also commissioned six sets of society guidelines (venous, descending thoracic aorta, vascular access, carotid and vertebral, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and mesenteric vessels) which will be published in the Journal over the next two years.
The Journal will also publish guideline projects that have been prepared in conjunction with the Society for Vascular Surgery and the World Federation of Vascular Surgery (critical limb ischaemia) and the European Society of Cardiology (peripheral arterial disease).
EJVES has also introduced a monthly ‘Education Section’ which includes MCQs relating to the current issue, statistical tutorials, as well as a series of clinical vignettes which are answered using the latest evidence based literature.
A final new venture started this year is ‘EJVES Short Reports’ (edited by Jean-Baptiste Ricco), which will allow authors to publish case reports and technical/operative videos on line.

Industry Symposium
In order to support the industry, ESVS will offer the opportunity to the industry to sponsor several symposia. The topics are defined by ESVS in consultation with industry, and the company can suggest a speaker who will be approved by ESVS.
The session may be branded in the program with a company name and the words: “This symposium has been made possible through an unrestricted grant from xx”, together with the company logo.
The company can opt to run the entire symposium alone for 90 minutes.
A second option is that a company can elect to divide the timeslot with other companies, presenting a similar topic. The industry symposium time slot is then divided by the number of companies that will be presenting. This will allow smaller companies to engage with their target audience during the Symposium.
Maximum 3 speakers during a 30 min time slot.
5 topics have been selected: Aorta, Imaging, PAD, Venous, Pharma

ESVS may accept multiple sponsors for the items listed in the partnership opportunities, unless otherwise indicated.
ESVS may modify the meeting programme without notice.
5. Assignment of Exhibit Space and Symposia Timeslots Space and timeslots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis – taking into account the time when the ESVS Office receives the signed partnership application form.
6. Industry Symposia Topics will be selected by ESVS. Speakers will be selected by the sponsoring company. Registration fees, accommodation and flights for speakers will be covered by the sponsoring com-pany. All sponsored symposia programs must be submitted for approval by the ESVS.
7. Promotional and Booth Activities No partner may operate in a way that violates the rights of another partner. Exhibits must not project beyond the space allocated, and may not obstruct the view or interfere with the traffic of other exhibits. All exhibits are to be conducted in a dignified manner. No soliciting of attendees in the aisle or any high-pressure sales pitch of any kind is permitted. Demonstra-tions and the distribution of literature and samples should take place inside the assigned booth. Any demonstrations at your booth that emit sound must be stopped immediately if deemed disruptive to other partners in the hall. Booths are to be kept clean and in good order. No part of any exhibit, or signs re-lating thereto, shall be posted, nailed or otherwise attached to columns, walls, floors or other parts of the facility, in any way. Damage arising from failure to observe these rules shall be payable by the partner. Partners’ promotional activities are confined to the actual booth space purchased, or in areas ap-proved by the ESVS. No sales trans-actions are allowed on the exhibition hall floor; however, part-ners are permitted to take orders for future fulfilment.
8. Contests/ Giveaways: As long as consistent with applicable country and local laws, prize contests and drawings are permissible. Partnership Opportunities • XXX ESVS Annual Meeting26
9. Changing/ Expanding Booth Space: ESVS is not responsible for contacting partners to change booth spaces if desired booth space is already taken by an-other partner. It is the responsibility of the partner requesting the additional space to contact the other partner to request a change and provide notification in writing to the ESVS Office. This does not apply to original booth assignments, as it is ESVS’ policy to call partners for alternative booth selections if their choices are not available. As indicated on the floor plan, booth assignments may be subject to change.
10. Photography/ Videotaping: Photography (including camera enabled cell phones), video-taping or examining another Partner’s equipment or display without that partner’s permission is forbidden.
11. Subletting of Space: Subletting of space is not permitted. Two or more companies may not exhibit in a single space. No Partner may assign, sub-let or apportion his/her space to or with another business en-tity or individual. No partner may show or demonstrate prod-ucts or services other than those manufactured or handled in the normal course of his business. Should any item from a no exhibiting entity be required for operation of a display, iden-tification of such item shall be limited to regular name plate or trademark under which same is sold in the general course of business. Sharing space with individuals or companies not offi-cially represented by the contracting partner is strictly prohib-ited, and may result in eviction. In fairness to other partners, each company must have its own booth space. ESVS will make every effort to assign booth space to companies that wish to be located together or near each other.

14. Interpretation of RegulationsESVS has the sole and exclusive right to make changes, amend-ments and additions to partner guidelines stated in this doc-ument and subsequent communications, as it deems neces-sary to the proper conduct of the partner and, thereupon, the general terms and conditions, as amended, shall govern the actions of all partners. Interpretation of the partner general terms and conditions and operational rules shall rest solely with ESVS, and the decisions of ESVS shall be final. ESVS may require partners to make such alterations to their displays as it deems necessary to the proper conduct of the exhibition. Failure to comply may result in immediate expulsion from the exhibition or the payment of reimbursement and compensation to ESVS by the partner for all expenses related to the alteration of a booth/ display.
15. Fire Regulations: All fabric, carpet and plastic exhibit booth material must be fire retardant. Oil cloth, tarpaper, nylon, certain plastic or oth-er materials that cannot be made flame retardant are prohib-ited. No open flames are permitted without a fire department permit. The organisers will provide security service during meeting hours. Neither ESVS, nor its partners, members, officers, rep-resentatives, agents or employees, will be responsible for any injury, theft, loss or damage that may occur to the exhibits. In the event that said premises are destroyed by fire, climatic elements or by any other cause, or by government intervention or regulation, military activity, strikes or any other circum-stances which make it impossible for the ESVS Annual Meeting to take place, the contract shall terminate and the partner or sponsor shall waive any claim for damages or compensation except the pro rata return of the amount paid for space, after deduction of actual expenses incurred in connection with the ESVS Annual Meeting. Companies are required to make their own arrangements with respect to insurance and organisation of their booth.
