1 PARTNER VISAS DOCUMENT CHECKLIST YOU SHOULD PROVIDE ALL THE DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW WHEN YOU LODGE YOUR VISA APPLICATION Form 956 (if the sponsor, a migration agent or other person is assisting you with the visa application); Form 47SP Application for Migration to Australia by a Partner. Answer all the questions in the form and do not forget to sign and date the last pages of the form; Evidence of payment of the Visa Application Charge (unless you apply online, in which case you will need to pay the Visa Application Charge prior to lodgment); Form 40SP Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia, signed by your partner with all questions answered; Copy of your birth certificate with a certified translation of it (for every person included in the application); Copy of the biodata pages of both your international and internal (if relevant) passports (and of all people included in the application); Three recent passport-sized, colour photographs for each person included in the application; Two recent passport-sized colour photographs of your partner/sponsor; Copies of all your previous marriage certificates together with certified translation; Copies of all your divorce certificates together with certified translation; Copies of police clearance certificates, and certified translations of the certificates, for every person over 16 included in the application. Police clearance certificates should be from every country you have lived for more than 12 months in the past 10 years (cumulatively); Form 80, Personal Particulars for Character Assessment, for every person aged 16 years and over included in the application. The form should be signed and fully completed. Pay special attention to the paragraphs with your education and employment. When you fill in the address of your employers/education institution write down full addresses (including postcodes). Failure to provide this completed form can result in very lengthy delays in processing your application; Copy of the biodata page of the international passport of your partner/sponsor. If your partner does not have an international passport, you can provide a copy of your partner’s Australian Citizenship certificate or birth certificate; Copies of your partner’s divorce certificates (if any); If there is an underage child migrating with you, you must provide a copy of a National Police Clearance for your partner from Australia as well as for each country he/she has lived in for 12 months or more (cumulatively) during the last 10 years; If there is an underage child migrating with you, you must provide a certified copy of a custody document. This is a written statement of the non-migrating parent for the child to migrate permanent to Australia. A certified translation of the document is also required, as well as a copy of the biodata page of the non-migrating parent which includes their

PARTNER VISAS – DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

YOU SHOULD PROVIDE ALL THE DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW WHEN YOU LODGE

YOUR VISA APPLICATION

Form 956 (if the sponsor, a migration agent or other person is assisting you with the visa

application);

Form 47SP Application for Migration to Australia by a Partner. Answer all the

questions in the form and do not forget to sign and date the last pages of the form;

Evidence of payment of the Visa Application Charge (unless you apply online, in

signature. Otherwise, you may provide a legal document (such as a court decision)

depriving the non-migrating parent of parental rights;

If you have an underage child who is not migrating with you, you must provide a copy of

and certified translation of his/her birth certificate;

If you have a child over 18 who is migrating with you, you must provide a Statement

from the child saying that he/she does not intend to get married during the processing of

your visa application;

NOIM - Notice Of Intention to Marry - this is an official document signed by the person

who will be conducting the marriage ceremony in Australia and must include the names

of both parents and the date of your intended marriage. If you are already married, please

provide a copy of your marriage certificate;

Evidence of your relationship (photos together, postcards, letters with original envelopes,

emails, Skype snapshots, text messages, statutory declarations by supporting witnesses,

etc). You and your partner should provide statements (and English translations) outlining

how, when and where you met, how your relationship developed, when you decided to

get married and any other details of your relationship you consider relevant. Any

additional evidence to support your relationship including financial, household, social

and commitment aspects of your relationship. We are unable to store large quantities

of correspondence, photos and other documentation and do not have the facilities to

view videos;

If you have served in the military (including national service), copies of your

service/discharge records.
