Rolling Road Map Analysis

Method

• Analysis of Road Maps concerning countries having an S&T Cooperation Agreement (for MED: Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt). Countries’ fiches and outcomes from regional events and Summits used as well.

• Analysis of EC committments (common topics/themes for SICA or Targeted Opening MED) against WPs 2007-2008-2009

• Non-linear method but gives a clear picture of the whole international activities in relation to regional issues and challenges in the Mediterranean

Objectives

• Progress made in the S&T dialogue with third countries having an S&T agreement

• Monitor the progress made in achieving goals / targets included in the Road Maps.

• Commitments made by EC in relation to international activities planned in WPs 2007, 2008 and 2009.

• Strategy for International Cooperation in the different Thematic Areas with a regional dimension

Outcomes of the analysis

• Emphasis on regional common features

• General frame of convergences between country thematic priorities and instruments/topics used for International Cooperation in WPs 2007, 2008 and 2009.

• Identified topics remaining to be covered, possibly to be considered for the preparation of the WPs-2010 strategy and beyond.
