ALL REGISTERED Part Time Students are members of DIT Students’ Union (DITSU). That includes students studying on all part-time / evening programmes.

Once you have a student card and are registered with the college you are a FULL member of the Union. You can vote and have your say in everything that the Students’ Union does. It’s YOUR Union!

Who runs the DIT Students’ Union (DITSU)

DITSU is led by the President and two Vice Presidents along with team of part-time elected officers, all of these officers are elected by the student body annually. The Union also has a team of full-time professional staff. Officers and staff are here to provide you with a wide range of services.

We recognise that normal office hours are not sufficient to meet the needs of all our Part Time members, and consequently we have organised later opening in various DIT sites until 8.30pm on one / two evenings per week to answer any questions/queries that you have. Pop down to us on your break or you can email us on [email protected]

Value For Money

DIT Students’ Union is aware that its Part Time members pay hefty fees to attend college. Unfortunately, these fees can increase from year to year and while your Students’ Union cannot prevent these price hikes, we are keen to ensure that any fee increases are reason-able and fair. If you feel that any fee increases are unreasonable or have any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] Access to all special offers for students made available through the Students’ Union

Programme and Lecturing Quality

As fee-paying students all Part Time students are entitled to a quality service from the DIT.There are strict quality assurance procedures in place to ensure the highest academic standards are maintained in all programmes for all students. If you have issues with any aspect of your learning experience (facilities, library services, lecturing standards etc.), we are here to advise you. Email the elected officers (see contacts list at the end of this leaflet) or [email protected] with all details, and the information will be dealt with by the appropriate person.

You could also check out your Programme Document, available in the library. This docu-ment sets out all the module descriptions and assessment methods, weightings, criteria etc in great detail. Any deviations from what is set out in this document is a breach of DIT regulations. If this you think that this has occurred please contact us at [email protected] and we will advise you on how to bring the matter forward.

All lecturers are required to produce Q6A forms to their students at the end of each module. This Q6A form asks for student feedback on all aspects of the module includ-ing content, facilities, handouts, teaching quality. Filling out this form gives students the chance to voice any concerns they have and this is done anonymously. If you haven’t received this form from your lecturers please email us at [email protected] and we will provide you with blank forms.

If you are concerned at any point about the quality of service you are receiving as a student, please let us know so we can advise you or follow the issue up.
