Be Aware of the Working Environment
Avoid long-termoperation in very hotor very cold weather.
Make sure bystanders orobservers outside the 50-foot “danger zone” wear
eye protection.
Be extremely careful of slippery terrain,especially during rainy weather.
Be constantly alert for objectsand debris that could be
thrown from the air blast andbounced from a hard surface.
Reduce the risk of bystanders beingstruck by flying debris. Make sure no
one is within 50 feet (15 meters)—that’sabout 16 paces—of an operating
blower.

Do not direct the air blasttowards bystanders. Thehigh air flow could blowsmall objects at great
speed causing possibleeye injury.Never operate the
blower if anycomponent parts
are damaged, loose,or missing!

Wear a dust mask to reducethe risk of inhalation injuries.
Always wear eye protectionsuch as a face shield or goggleswhile operating this unit. Never
operate the blower whenvisibility is poor.
Wear hearingprotection whenoperating this
unit.
Wear close-fitting clothing to protect legs and arms.Gloves offer added protection and are strongly
recommended. Do not wear clothing or jewelry thatcould get caught in machinery or underbrush. Securehair so it is above shoulder level. NEVER wear shorts!
Wear appropriate footwear (non-skid boots or shoes): do notwear open-toed shoes or sandals.
Never operate the unit while barefoot!
Keep a proper footing and do notoverreach. Maintain your balance
at all times during operation.
Always be aware of the strength anddirection of the blower discharge stream.Never direct the blower discharge stream
toward people or animals!

Assembling the Blower
Danger from rotating impeller!Stop the engine before installing orremoving the blower tubes! Neverperform any maintenance orassembly procedures on this unitwhile the engine is running!
Place the blower upright on the groundor on a sturdy work surface.
1.Grasp the blower tube as shown, andpush the tube over the blowerdischarge port and locking pins.
2.Lock the blower tube to the blowerdischarge port by rotating the tubeas shown.
3.Grasp the nozzle with the label“TOP” positioned as shown, and thenpush the nozzle over the straighttube and locking pins.
4.Lock the nozzle to the straight tube byrotating the nozzle as shown.
IMPORTANT!
Blower tube installation affects bothblower balance and performance! Thetube and nozzle are correctly installedwhen the label “Top” is visible to theoperator during normal operation.

Armado del soplador
¡Peligro con el impulsor giratorio!
Antes de instalar o remover lostubos del soplador, detenga elmotor. Nunca lleve a cabo ningúnprocedimiento de mantenimientoo armado en este equipo mientrasel motor esté funcionando.
Coloque el soplador verticalmentesobre el suelo o sobre una superficie detrabajo firme.1. Tome el tubo del soplador tal como
se muestra y empújelo por encimadel puerto de descarga del soplador ylos pasadores de seguridad.
2. Trabe el tubo del soplador contra elpuerto de descarga del sopladorgirando el tubo tal como se muestra.
3. Tome la boquilla que tiene el rótulo“PARTE SUPERIOR” ubicado talcomo se muestra y luego empuje latobera por encima del tubo recto ylos pasadores de seguridad.
4. Trabe la boquilla contra el tuborecto girando la misma tal comose muestra.
¡IMPORTANTE!
La instalación del tubo soplador incidetanto sobre el equilibrio como sobre elrendimiento del soplador. El tubo y laboquilla están correcta-menteinstalados cuando el rótulo “PARTESUPERIOR” es visiblepara el operador durante la operaciónnormal.

¡ADVERTENCIA!
¡PRECAUCIÓN!Algunas gasolinas contienen alcoholcomo oxigenante. Los combustiblesoxigenados pueden ocasionar unaumento de la temperatura defuncionamiento. En ciertascondiciones, el alcohol puedetambién reducir las propiedadeslubricantes de algunos aceites demezclado. Nunca utilice ningúncombustible que contenga más de10 % de alcohol en volumen.Los aceites genéricos y algunosaceites para motores fuera de bordapueden no estar concebidos paramotores de alto rendimiento de 2ciclos enfriados por aire y nodeberán utilizarse nunca en sumotor Shindaiwa.
¡PRECAUCIÓN!Este motor está diseñado paraoperar solamente con una mezcla50:1 consistente de gasolina sinplomo y un aceite Premium demezcla para motores de 2 ciclos. Lautilización de aceites no aprobadosde mezclado puede conducir aexcesivos costos de mantenimientoo daños al motor.
■ Utilice solamente gasolina sin plomofresca y limpia con un octanaje de 87o superior.

Adjusting Engine Idle

135 Hour MaintenanceHard starting or a gradual loss ofperformance can be caused by carbondeposits lodged in the spark arresterscreen, muffler or cylinder exhaust port.For maximum performance, the mufflerand spark arrester screen should beperiodically cleaned as follows:1.Remove the spark plug.
2.Remove (3) self-tapping screws and(2) machine screws from the enginecover, and then gently move theengine cover aside.
3.Remove the (3) spark arresterretaining screws, then remove thespark arrester cover, screen, gasket,and chamber.
4.Use a plastic scraper or wire brush toremove carbon deposits fromthe arrester screen, chamber,and cover.
Never operate the unit with adamaged or missing muffler or sparkarrester! Operating with missing ordamaged exhaust components is afire hazard and could also damageyour hearing.
WARNING!
5.Inspect the screen carefully, andreplace any screen that has beenperforated, distorted, or is otherwiseunserviceable.
CAUTION!
Always replace cover screws in thesame holes as removed! Substitu-tion or incorrect assembly of enginecover screws can permanentlydamage aluminum castings andplastic components!
12.Install the engine cover retainingscrews in the reverse order of re-moval and tighten securely.
13.Install and tighten the spark plug,and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Storage (30 days or longer)
Whenever the unit will not be used for30 days or longer, use the followingprocedures to prepare it for storage:■Clean external parts thoroughly.■Drain all the fuel from the fuel tank.
IMPORTANT!
All stored fuels should be stabilizedwith a fuel stabilizer such asSTA-BIL™ if Shindaiwa One oil withfuel stabilizer is not used.
■To remove the remaining fuel fromthe fuel lines and carburetor with thefuel drained from the tank;
1.Prime the primer bulb until no morefuel is passing through the returntube.
2.Start and run the engine until it stopsrunning.
3.Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the enginewill no longer start.
CAUTION!
Gasoline stored in the carburetor forextended periods can cause hardstarting, and could also lead toincreased service and maintenancecosts.
■Remove the spark plug and pourabout 1/4 ounce of 2-cycle mixing oilinto the cylinder through the sparkplug hole. Slowly pull the recoilstarter 2 or 3 times so oil will evenlycoat the interior of the engine.Reinstall the spark plug.
■Before storing the machine, repair orreplace any worn or damaged parts.
■Remove the air cleaner element fromthe carburetor and clean it thor-oughly with soap and water. Let dryand reassemble the element.
■Store the unit in a clean, dust-freearea.

7.Gently tap the muffler on a woodsurface to dislodge any loose carbon.
8.Inspect the cylinder exhaust portfor excessive carbon buildup

10.Install the chamber, screen, gasketand cover in the reverse order ofdisassembly, and then install andsecurely tighten the (3) coverretaining screws.
11.Install the engine cover, and verifythat the fuel line connections are stilltightly in place.
9.Reinstall the muffler in the reverseorder as described in step 6 andsecurely tighten the (2) socket- headcap screws and Phillipshead screw.
6.Remove the (2) socket-head capscrews and (1) Phillips head screw,then remove the muffler.

For parts listed under PARTS COVERED, the dealer authorized by ShindaiwaKogyo Co., Ltd. will, at no cost to you, make the necessary diagnosis, repair, orreplacement of any defective emission-related component to ensure that theengine complies with applicable U.S. EPA regulations.
MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY COVERAGE
When sold within the U.S., this engine’s emission control system is warrantedfor a period of two (2) years from the date this product is first delivered to theoriginal retail purchaser.

As the engine owner, you are responsible for the performance of the requiredmaintenance listed in your owner’s manual. (a)conditions resulting from tampering, misuse, improper adjustment(unless they were made by the dealer or service center authorized byShindaiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd. during a warranty repair), alteration, accident,failure to use the recommended fuel and oil, or not performingrequired maintenance services,(b)the replacement parts used for required maintenance services,(c)consequential parts used for required maintenance services,(d)diagnosis and inspection fees that do not result in eligible warrantyservice being performed, and(e)any non-authorized replacement part, or malfunction of authorizedparts due to use of non-authorized parts.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR REQUIREMENTS
You are responsible for the proper use and maintenance of the engine. Youshould keep all receipts and maintenance records covering the performance ofregular maintenance in the event questions arise. These receipts and mainte-nance records should be transferred to each subsequent owner of the engine.Shindaiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd. reserves the right to deny warranty coverage if theowner has not properly maintained the engine. REQUISITOS DE MANTENIMIENTO Y REPARACIONUsted es responsible por el propio uso y mantenimiento del motor. Usted debeconservar todo recibo y registro de mantenimiento relativo a operaciones demantenimiento regulares, para en caso de que surigieran preguntas. Estosrecibos y registros de mantenimiento deben ser transferidos a cada propietariosubsiguiente del motor. Shin-Daiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd. Se reserva el derecho denegar la cobertura de esta garantía en caso de que el propietario haya fallado enefectuar mantenimiento adecuado en el motor. Shin-Daiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd sinembargo, no negará reparaciones bajo garantía, por el solo hecho de no haberefectuado reparaciones, mantenimiento o por la falta de los registros demantenimiento.
CUALQUIER ESTABLECIMIENTO O INDIVIDUO CAPACITADO PODRALLEVAR A CABO EL MANTENIMIENTO, REEMPLAZO O REPARACION DELOS DISPOSITIVOS Y SISTEMAS DE CONTROL DE EMISIONES; SINEMBARGO, LAS REPARACIONES CUBIERTAS POR LA GARANTIADEBERAN SER EFECTUADAS POR UN DISTRIBUIDOR O CENTRO DESERVICIO AUTORIZADO POR SHIN-DAIWA KOGYO. EL USO DEREPUESTOS QUE NO SEAN EQUIVALENTES EN RENDIMIENTO YDURABILIDAD A LAS AUTORIZADAS PODRIAN AFECTAR LA EFICACIADEL SISTEMA DE CONTROL DE EMISIONES, ASIMISMO, PODRIAAFECTAR LA RESPUESTA DADA A CUALQUIER SOLICITUD DECOBERTURA DE GARANTIA.
Si se utilizaran partes no autorizadas por Shin-Daiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd parareemplazar cualquier parte durante un servicio de mantenimiento o para lareparación de componentes que afecten el sistema de control de emisiones,debe asegurarse de que dichos repuestos cuenten con una garantía adecuada,emitida por el fabricante, en el sentido de que dichos repuestos seanequivalentes a las autorizadas por Shin-Daiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd en lo relativo a surendimiento y durabilidad.
COMO OBTENER SERVICIO DE GARANTIAToda reparación conforme a los términos de esta garantía limitada deberállevarla a cabo un agente autorizado por Shin-Daiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd.Si cualquier parte relacionada con el sistema de control de emisiones resultaradefectuosa durante el periódo cubierto por la garantía, será su responsabilidadpresentar el producto a un agente autorizado de Shindaiwa. Presente su facturao recibo de venta en los que aparezca la fecha de compra del motor. El agenteautorizado de Shin-Daiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd llevará a cabo las reparaciones oajustes necesarios en un lapso razonable, suministrándole una copia de dichaorden de reparación.
