Weekly Mass Schedule Transition News: This is the week of transition for our Family of Parishes. On July 2nd, we are family!
Fr. Leo moves to the rectory at Assumption Parish where he will live in community with the Basilian priests of whom he is a member. We thank him for his many years of service at St. Paul Parish, for his dedication and his leadership and we pray that the Lord will bless him abundantly as he transitions into this next phase of ministry. Knowing Fr. Leo, he will continue to labour in the Lord’s vineyard with great passion and zeal.
Fr. Matt is also on the move as he becomes the Administrator of St. John the Baptist Parish in Amherstburg. Though his time at Sacred Heart Parish has been relatively short, his ministry has impacted many. We thank him for his great care and ministry in the parish and we pray that he will be blessed in his new community. We wish Fr. Matt the best as he transitions into the parish entrusted to his leadership.
We welcome Fr. Ray Lawhead as the Associate Pastor. The Pastoral Team that will be at the service of our family includes the two Priests, the Deacon and two Pastoral Ministers.
The current office locations, staff and office hours remain the same. There will be a need to communicate information from one office location to the other, so your patience is necessary. Please remember that everyone on team is transitioning into new roles and responsibilities. It will take us “some time” to get to know each other and our parishioners.
The new weekday Mass schedule begins this Tuesday. Please note the time and location of each daily mass. It would be a tremendous blessing if our weekday participants in the Eucharist made a special effort to continue to celebrate daily Mass. Bishop Fabbro has given us permission to offer daily Mass with 6 intentions due to the reduced number of weekday Masses in our family. Contact the office with your requests.
Bishop Dabrowski will be the celebrant at the 4:30pm Mass next Saturday at St. Paul, the 9:15am Mass at Sacred Heart and the 11:15am Mass at St. Joseph. Parishioners are encouraged to be present as we celebrate our new beginnings as the “LaSalle River Canard Catholic Family of Parishes”. Finally, you are reminded and encouraged to offer the prayer for our Family of Parishes.
The Eucharist.. Is not a prize for the perfect but
a powerful medicine and nourishment for the
weak. - Pope Francis
Congratulations and Best Wishes to all graduates from elementary, secondary, college or university who have completed another step in their education! We join your families in wishing you much success and happiness as you enter a new phase in your life. God Bless you!
Félicitations à nos diplômés: Toute la communauté paroissiale vous félicite de cet accomplissement et nous espérons que la prochaine étape de votre vie sera remplie de succès et de bonheur. Que Dieu vous bénisse!
Avow: Join other Catholic women to share the adventure of discernment. Avow is a small group for heart-to-heart conversation and study, structured in monthly 90-minutes sessions. Groups are guided by the discernment principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola. No pressure - just women supporting one another as they seek the Father’s will for their lives. Windsor-Essex region meetings are held monthly. Please contact Maureen at the Madonna House, Windsor at [email protected] for more info or to register.
SSVP: The needs of the poor don’t take a break for the summer. There are some families who rely on school breakfast programs or free snacks to provide their children with much needed food. Please keep this in mind during your next trip to the grocery store and pick up an extra box or two of crackers, pudding or granola bars. Sunscreen is another item that is always in need. There are bins at each of the church entrances for your donations.
Vacation Time! Administrators, teachers, support staff and students are wished a safe, enjoyable and restful summer. Remember to keep in touch with the Lord and His Church, even when you travel.
C’est le temps des vacances! Bon repos cet été à tous le personnel scolaire ainsi qu’aux étudiants. Soyez prudents et n’oubliez pas le Seigneur!
Mum Sales: It’s almost that time of year! Beginning July 28th, we will be taking orders for beautiful fall mums from the Bloomin Gardner. The 10” pots will be available in red,
yellow, purple and orange for only $10 each. Delivery date is set for early September.
2019-2020 Sacramental Preparation Students from St. Joseph School, Sacred Heart and École Mgr. Caron will be bringing home important information with their school report card regarding First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
Please read the letter carefully and reserve the dates on your calendar. If your child attends a school other than St. Joseph and Mgr. Caron, the letter is available at the church entrance.
