o No partner necessary – just a level of comfort playing contract bridge. o Members take turns hosting 2 tables of bridge at their homes and there is a $1 buy-in. o Full time or spare players are welcome

o Join a group of women at Brigadoon Golf Course for a 12:30 pm tee off. This scenic course is a 9-hole par 3-4 in Parksville. Contact Isabelle if interested in joining. Golf is discontinued until better weather.

o Join our mixed Newcomers and Alumni golfers every Monday and Thursday to enjoy the many varied golf courses in the area. Times and locations will be e-mailed to those interested. Mens’ golf is continuing but on a good weather allowable basis, i.e. no fixed schedule.

o Dinners are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month-next event will be advised to those interested.

o The host provides the main course and the guests provide the appetizers, salads or desserts. Everyone provides their beverage of choice.

o An evening around the dinner table enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal is a great way to meet and really get to know people in the Newcomers Club.

The Christmas Dinner and Dance scheduled for Sunday, December 10th is being cancelled. The Board of Directors has determined that the minimum numbers required by the venue cannot be met. Mick Howland, the Director of Special Events will contact members who have already paid for the dinner to arrange their reimbursement. Members can also pick up their reimbursement at our monthly meeting on Thursday, December 7th.

MEMBERSHIP FEES Membership fees are $15.00 per person for the year (September through to August). Fees for new members are pro-rated over 10 months ($1.50/month) and adjusted according to the month joined. Membership renewals must be received by the November Monthly Meeting or membership will lapse. Members can mail their renewal cheques to the Membership Director at 17 Magnolia Drive, Parksville, B.C. V9P 2V6. Fees can be paid at the Membership table on the evening of the monthly meeting between 6:30 and 7:30 pm. Membership closes during the meeting. New member sign ups and renewals will be taken after the meeting ends. Custom name tags are $7.00 per name tag and are ready for pick up at the next meeting. RELEASE OF LIABILITY In keeping with our bylaws, the Executive of the Parksville Newcomers’ Club needs each member to sign a “Release of Liability” form in advance of participating in any activities or events organized by the Club. This form also provides the Club with authorization to share contact information with other members of the Club for the purpose of Club activities and confirms your authorization to receive e-mail communications from the Club. This form covers the term of active membership in the Club. The form is available at the monthly meeting and on the website. EVENTS AND SPECIAL EVENTS Event costs are not included in the annual dues. Event related costs will be identified in advance by the Event Coordinators.
