Hi everyone,
You have heard the expression, “Time flies when you are having a good time.” We must be having the time of
our lives because this month is certainly flying by so quickly that we are having trouble fitting all the activities
into our calendar. It definitely has been fun so far!
It’s April and time for renewing our memberships. Dues will be $30.00 for the year 2017-2018. Please fill out a
renewal form when you submit your check. You will find this form on our website and can mail it to Cathy
Schafer. Her information is on the bottom of the renewal form. We will also have renewal forms available at
this luncheon for you to complete.
Yes, we hear you saying that we know all about you already. “Why do I have to fill the form in again?” Let us
explain. We do not know if you have changed your email or phone number. Having updated and accurate
information not only helps us communicate with you more effectively, but it helps you connect with your Citrus
Newcomer Friends.
This month’s meeting is our Fashion Show. Learn what colors and trends are in this season as you watch our
members model the newest fashions from Anthony’s at the Villages. It is always fun to see what’s in and
what’s out in the world of fashion.
The Nominations Committee, chaired by Cathy Schafer, worked hard to create a slate that is a mixture of new
and veteran members to guide the club with the same energy and creativity we have seen in the past. Thanks
so much to the committee for their hard work. Special thanks to all of you who volunteered to serve on the
board and the committees. You will bring new ideas and enthusiasm to help us grow and improve. At this
luncheon, we will vote to approve the slate of officers for next year
We need your help! When you sign up to attend a luncheon, please write on your check whether you want the hot meal or the cold meal. If you do not write anything on your check or tell the ladies who run your credit card what your choice is, you will receive the hot meal.
We hope you have been able to meet new friends and enjoy interesting conversations at the luncheons. From
our vantage point, it sure sounds like you are having a fantastic time!

Special Interest Groups
10,000 Dice Game:
Meets 1st Tues of each month at 1:30 pm. Lunch at 12:00 pm in the Grille. Only contact Jan Weaver [email protected] this month. or Nancy Newman [email protected]
Beading:
Meets first Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7 at 1:00 pm. Our goal is to have fun and create beautiful jewelry. We will be working on restringing old beads or creating new designs. There will be different teachers sharing new techniques and they will provide a supply list if needed. Come and join us for an afternoon of fun with good friends. Keep on beading! Bike It or Hike It

Book Club:
Meets the fourth Thursday of each month at the Lakes Region Public Library, Inverness, 1:30 pm. Contact Judy Herron at 352-860-0232 for more info.
Bridge:
We meet the 1st and 3rd Monday from 1:30 to 4 or 4:30 pm in homes. We are an informal, fun group and play open bridge as many of us are just getting back into the game. Contact Judy Herron at 860-0232 [email protected]
Bunco 2.0:
Constantly changing group, meeting 3rd Tuesday at 9:30 each month at Citrus Hills CC Grille. Lunch afterward at Citrus Hills CC if you choose to stay. To be put on email list: Nancy Newman at [email protected] or Pat Ellis at [email protected]
Bunco PM:

Discussion Group/WOW:
Want to discuss without having to read? Come join us for a women’s discussion group called WOW (Women of Words). WOW meets the second Monday of each month from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Public Library April 10 – Lee Alexander speaker about Seniors against crime. Kayaking:

A RESERVATION EXISTS WHEN YOUR CHECK HAS BEEN RECEIVED. Cancellations may be made prior to the deadline and a full refund will be provided, but after that date, you will only receive a refund if we can “sell” your lunch. If, at the last minute, you find you cannot attend the lunch, call Anne Lundberg. There is the possibility she has a waiting list and will be able to “sell” your reservation.

AM; No Cost. (Meet at Key Training Center Thrift Store.) The Key Training Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving adults with developmental disabilities. This tour will help to better understand how the center works and who they help. Light lunch will be available after tour and those who visit will get a coupon for the Thrift Store.
