All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church

celebrated annually on November 1. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven.

Pope Francis has invited all the faithful in the world to pray the rosary each day in the Marian month of October to join in communion and penitence. In addition, the Holy Father has asked that two prayers be added after the recitation of the rosary, one to the Blessed Mother and one to Saint Michael the Archangel, both asking the Lord to protect the Church from evil. Novena for Life at Holy Martyrs and St. Gregory this fall sponsored by the POTHE Knights of Columbus. Two novenas of prayer & penance at St Gregory, 3:30 pm Saturday and Holy Martyrs, 10 am Sunday. Recitation of Rosary and Mass on Saturday mornings at Sacred Heart. Rosary begins at 7:45 am followed by Mass at 8:15am.

We extend a warm welcome to Annie Smith who has enthusiastically accepted the role of Faith Formation Coordinator & Pastoral Leader at Holy Martyrs and Coordinator of POTHE Small Group Ministry. She com-pleted a year of youth ministry training in a program called ACTS 29 located in her home state of Rhode

Island. This program focuses on a year of unpaid service to organize and lead prayer meetings, retreats, and community events for the dio-cese. Annie moved to Maine in 2010 to study at the University of South-ern Maine, obtaining her degree in Recreation Therapy to incorporate her desire for cultivating spirituality in the healthcare system. Her favor-ite things include spoiling her two feisty French bulldogs, playing the piano, jumping in puddles with her 1 ½ year old, swimming in most any body of water, and entertaining family/friends. She looks forward to utilizing her life enrichment background to enhance community and fellowship throughout our parish. Annie is a wonderful addition to our staff and parish! POTHE Lifelong Faith Formation Team: Georgette Dionne (Director & Pastoral Leader/Faith Formation Coordi-nator at St. Jude Church) Deacon Dennis Popadak (Pastoral Leader/Faith Formation Coordina-tor at St. Gregory Church) Kim Lovett (Admin. Assistant and Pastoral Leader/Faith Formation Coordinator at Sacred Heart Church) Annie Smith (Pastoral Leader/Faith Formation Coordinator at Holy Martyrs Church and Parish Coordinator of Small Groups Ministry) This year, we are fortunate to also have Seminarian Joseph Moreshead on our team. What exactly do we do? Each team member is a Pastoral Leader at one of our churches. This means that we are visible and present, week by week, to that church community. We work closely with a volunteer leadership team to minis-ter to the community in all areas. Each of us is also the Faith For-mation Coordinator. We teach and lead faith formation gatherings for all ages, families, and adults; we develop strategies to build on our Catholic culture within our church seasons and liturgical cycles. We ensure that all volunteers maintain compliance with diocesan and par-ish policies, including measures regarding all Protecting God’s Children mandates. We organize, supply, prepare, and enhance gathering and worship spaces at each of our church facilities. We support the Liturgi-cal Ministries associated with each Mass. Our responsibilities also include administrative tasks associated with registrations, communications with our parishioners, updating website pages and connecting with our Diocesan offices. Please keep us in your prayers.

or father, please make plans to join us this Saturday.

30TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME—Our liturgical season’s color is

GREEN.

THIS WEEK’S THEME: What Do I See? Scripture background:

Unlike the disciples who knew Jesus face to face, the blind man Bartimaeus makes up his mind about who Jesus is without the benefit of actually seeing him with his eyes. He sees Jesus with his heart. He sees something that others are not. Even before he is healed, he sees that Jesus is the Messiah, the one who heals and forgives sins, the one who is really God!! Bartimaeus does not let anyone or anything stop him from crying out to God to heal him. He shows great faith and when he is healed, he then follows Jesus.

WE PRAY: “Our Father in heaven, sometimes I don’t even recognize that I need healing. Help me to see where I might be broken or hurt and to humbly ask for your healing. Amen.”

WE TALK: How has God healed each of us, inside or out? How has he healed other people we know. What does it mean to be healed in our hearts?

WE ACT: During Mass, we will try to listen to notice how many times we ask God to forgive or heal us.

November 1st is All Saints Day! We honor all the saints for their lives of faith, sacrifice and great love of God. We ask them to pray for and with us. Parish BIBLE Recommendations: We have Bibles for all ages at our Bible display station at each church. Please place your cash or check in the provided envelope and place in the collection or give to your church pastoral Leader. Good will offering also accepted.
