Traidcraft Stall - Thank you for supporting our stall
which made £386.10 of sales at the Christmas Fayre.
Gifts and Christmas cards will be on sale at the Cafod Advent Event after Mass on 29th November and the Becket Christmas Fair on 12th December. The new Christmas catalogue shows the excellent array of cards and gifts on offer. Please pick up a copy now, it is not too late to place an order.
SVP Advent Bag Appeal Goods collected will go to the Friary drop in centre and the London road hostel, to make up hampers for those in need in our community. Bags and a list of items needed will be given out on the first weekend of Advent. Please fill with as many items from the list and bring back to church on the Fourth Saturday/Sunday of Advent (20th Dec). Thank you, the Holy Spirit SVP.
We celebrate the First Sunday of Advent
There will be ‘Evening Prayer and Benediction’ this first Sunday of Advent at 5pm at the Holy Spirit Church.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE– THANK YOU!
A big thank you to Cathy Clark, Catherine Daly, Vicky Squire, Angela Knott, Amy Gethings, Cheryl Silcock and the Youth Group, The Scouts, Cubs, Guides, and Brownies the UCM, The H.S. Cricket Team, the Refreshments team, and all the stall holders and helpers, and counters.
Special thanks to St Edmund Campion school and for promoting and supporting this year’s fayre.
Thank you also to all our sponsors, Lymns, Reprotec, and Lyreco for their continued support to this event, and the additional sponsors who donated Raffle prizes these were; Anoki Beauty, Jayline Hardware store, Rainbows and Lemon Drops, Inspirations, The Co-op, The Cottage Restaurant, Ruddington Golf Club, The Theatre Royal, Crich Tramway Village, Matlock Farm Park, Rollerworld Derby, The Heights of Abraham (Matlock), Butterfly Dog Grooming and David Lloyd Gym.
A big thank you to all the parishioners that donated items for stalls and the raffle, who bought raffle tickets, and to everyone that came and supported the fayre it was a great event. This week we have also received some late donations which means we have raised now £3,548 for the Sick and Retired Priests Fund.
Cafod Advent Event is this Sunday 29th
November after all Masses. Candles of Love for Christmas on sale this weekend
and next weekend.
The Cafod Group invites you all to the Light of Love Mass 7.30pm on 7th December and afterwards in the hall for refreshments.
Help us to raise funds for Cafod by purchasing a candle to be lit at the Light of Love Mass 7.30pm on Monday 7
th
December, either as a gift for someone special or in memory of a loved one.
Please write the name/names of those you wish to remember at this Mass on one of the cardboard candles. These candles will be placed in a basket on the altar at the Advent Mass. A real candle will be lit for these intentions. Please see the porch notice board for further information .

BAZYLI LESOWIEC RIP
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bazyli Lesowiec who died this week. His Funeral Mass will be Thursday 3rd December 3pm at The Holy Spirit.
Please keep his daughter Wanda in your prayers.

Come and Sing with
The Holy Spirit Choir
at Christmas The Holy Spirit choir have started practising in earnest for Christmas, and would love to invite people to sing with them at Midnight Mass. You do not have to read music. We will teach you everything you need to know! We are a friendly bunch and we rehearse on Friday from 8pm for about an hour.

Mass Readers Rota
The rota for the next liturgical year, (starting this Advent), has now been sent to all readers. If you have not received yours, please contact Mary Corcoran either by phone 9232364, or email ;
[email protected] (to let her know and she will arrange to send you one).
There are still two vacancies on the rota, one for the 9am Mass and one for the Saturday evening 6.30pm Mass. If you are interested in reading at Mass four times a year, please contact Mary as above.

HEALING MASS
If you are need of God’s healing , there will
be a Healing Mass at the Holy Spirit on
Wednesday 9th December 7.30pm. All welcome.
CTWB- Christmas Event 12th December The CTWB are still in need for volunteers from the Churches in West Bridgford to undertake to help in different areas on the 12th of December. Singers and Instrumentalists, handing out gift booklets, leaflets of the activities of the Churches and the times of their Christmas Services, Refreshment area. Would anyone be prepared to represent our Church and talk about what our Church offers and does, should any enquiries be made. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 2nd December commencing with prayers at 7.30pm after which it will be party night with games, nibbles and drinks. Please bring something for the nibbles and drinks table and also a gift for the Lucky Dip.

Opening Liturgy for the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy

From 10.30 am on Tuesday 8th December, the Diocesan Youth Service will host a special programme, to be broadcast on the dioc-esan Jubilee website, at www.bemerciful.co.uk/opening-liturgy; this will give people from across the Diocese the opportunity to find out all about the Jubilee and explore its meaning. It will be followed by a live stream of the Opening Liturgy.

Room for rent wanted in West Bridgford area
A new parishioner is looking for a room to rent in a
shared flat/ house in the West Bridgford area. If you

Volunteers Needed for
The Emmanuel House Winter Shelter
Volunteers are needed to continue with this service
and work in shifts, helping to prepare simple meals,
check in guests and help with setting up of the
shelter as well as taking down beds in the morning.
For the 2014/2015 season there were 107
volunteers. You can volunteer for as much, or little
time as you can offer. For more details;

New 10.30am Tea Rotas
If you are a volunteer on a the 10.30am Tea Rota, the new rota for 2016 is ready for you to collect from the porch area of the church. Thank you for your help.
