ExploreKYHistory A new smart phone app and a new project for HPBC/ Hopewell Museum will soon bring a way to learn even more about the important people, places and events celebrated on the 23 historical markers throughout the county. A committee of HPBC/Hopewell Museum is joining the Kentucky Historical Society’s (KHS) Marker Program, ExploreKYHistory, to help provide greater context, related stories, images, audio clips and video about the subjects on Bourbon County’s twenty-three historical markers. Through this free app and the companion app website, the traveling and touring public will have greater access to Bourbon County’s rich local history. To download the current app for your phone, search your phone’s app store for “explore Kentucky history: or see the app’s accompanying website at explorekyhistory.ky.gov. February 10-June 2, 2013 Road Life: Sites & Scenes along Kentucky’s First Highway. The road from Lexington to Maysville has a long and colorful history. This exhibit uses archaeological excavations conducted during recent road improvements to interpret the road's historical geography and social contexts. Sponsored by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Federal Highway Administration, Kentucky Archaeological Survey and the W.S. Webb Museum of Anthropology.

These Paris Elementary Black History Month pictures of Jackie Robinson and Ruby Bridges were on display at Hopewell Museum during March.
