Maths Day Tuesday 6th November

Fulham Primary celebrated Rockstar Maths Day on

Tuesday and everybody had lots of fun. All the children looked fantastic in their Rockstar costumes; it was great to see all the effort that everybody put in. Year 2 to Year 6 had a big focus on times tables

and everybody is loving our new 'Times Tables Rockstars' programme (keep your eyes peeled in a newsletter for the parent workshop on this). They also had some really interesting debates in class

and made maths posters to go around the school. Early Years and Year 1 focused their work on 'The

Very Hungry Caterpillar' and completed lots of fun counting activities with real fruit. They also

completed some fantastic maths-themed art work. Thanks to everybody for pulling together to create

such a fantastic day.

On Wednesday Year 4 Panthers visited the Science Museum. They thoroughly enjoyed the

'Making of the Modern World' section of the Museum studying some of the amazing electrical

inventions from the last century. They also visited the Wonderlab which stimulated their scientific

curiosity.

Citizenship Year 5 pupils enjoyed their weekly visit to the Farm Lane Care Home. Here are a few of the pupils with some of the residents

enjoying a spot of arts and crafts!

Make a child smile this Christmas; pack a Christmas shoebox!

A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is small, but what comes out of it is massive.

Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.

If you would like to join in with this fantastic project then please follow these steps:

1. Source and wrap a shoebox. 2. Decide who you will be packing a shoebox for. 3. Fill your shoebox (see the ideas list on the next page) 4. Label your box –Boy/Girl and age range. 5. Put a £5 shipping donation into the box and give your box to Mrs

Goodwin by next Friday, 16th November at the latest! 6. Smile, knowing that you are bringing joy to a little person’s life!

Please feel free to spread the word to friends and family members outside of school. The more shoeboxes that we can get, the better!

More information can be found on the Samaritans website at:
