With a second acquisition in less than a month, Paprec continues to increase its presence in the scrap iron and metal recycling industry. Paprec acquires Atlantic Metal On Thursday April 17 th , Paprec has taken control of Atlantic Metal. Created in 2009, this company, with a current revenue of 60M€, specialises in the recycling of scrap iron and metals. It processes 200 000 tonnes/year, and employs 50 people on 7 sites in Western France (La Rochelle, La RochesurYon, Challans, Cholet, Le Mans, Rouen, Nantes). JeanLuc Petithuguenin (founder and CEO of Paprec), will take over the leadership of Atlantic Metal, and Charles Kofyan (Head of Innovation for Paprec) will be its General Manager. Following the buying of Desplat last March, this new acquisition is the continuation of Paprec’s strategy to become a major player in the recycling of scrap iron and metals. About Paprec : Paprec was founded and is headed by JeanLuc Petithuguenin. Paprec has established itself as the recycling specialist. With its 4 000 employees, it has generate a €750M turnover, with 5 million tonnes of waste treated and recycled. Since its creation in 1994, Paprec’s turnover has multiplied by 150, with a 29% annual increase, and it’s number of factories and employees has been multiplied by 80. As France’s first independent recycling business, Paprec is France’s first independent recycling business, and is now number 1 in the recycling of plastic, paper, and batteries, number 2 in electrical and electronic equipment waste (WEEE), and third in the recycling of wood, industrial waste, construction waste, and selective collection.
