To alter the perception regarding the study of computing so that (eventually) ambitious young idealists elect to study computing so they can “save the world.”

Replace examples used in introductory computing courses (e.g. games, mobile apps) with ones that have a humanitarian appeal: sustainability, humanitarian non-profit, scientific research, etc.

Connect with students’ values rather than their interests.

Work harder within the disciplinary society to connect with more members.

Get inserted into the new CS Principles course/initiative. (i.e. High Schools)

Develop interdisciplinary strategies.

Undertake rigorous research to test outcomes hypotheses.
