Palabras de Caramelo 1. Biography

Biography of the author Gonzalo Moure is a Spanish writer. He was born in Valencia in

1951 . The author wrote this book because he travelled to a refugee camp and impressed the history and life’s boy. Also, he

had other books for example:El beso del Sáhara,A porta de Mayo...

Biography of the illustrator Fernando Martín Godoy is the illustrator of this book. He was born in Zaragoza in 1975.Now, he lives in Madrid.

2. Main Character Protagonist: the protagonist is a deaf and dumb boy that he likes to write the poems with the help of his friend “Caramelo”. And, also the protagonist is Caramelo. It is a camel that lives in a

stable with the other camels.

Antagonist: The antagonists are the people that wanted to killer the camel

Secondary: the secondary are the teacher of Kori, parents and the Kori family.

Setting In this book the setting is the refugee camp at the present.

3. Summary Kori is a deaf and dumb boy. He thinks that the camels can

speak so he makes friends with one of them. He called him “

Caramelo”. But, the camel grew up and, in the camp, the people

wanted to kill the camel because they needed to eat. Kori and

Caramelo decided to escape.

4. Language and techniques Vocabulary Sordomudo = deaf and dumb or deaf-mute

Uno the ellos = one of them

hacerse amigo = makes friend

creció = grow up

Amistad = friendship

Struggle = luchar

5.My personal response to the plot I like this book because it explains the true friendship, because

Kori fought for his friendship with the camel.

6.Sentences that is important in the story The sentences that I like most are these:

“Kori visitaba a Caramelo todos os dias, sen faltar un. Pasaba

todas a as tardes con él, a carón da sua corte, aínda que fose

moita calor, aínda que fixese vento, ou aínda que houbese,

mesmo, unha das terribles tormentas de area que adoitaban

azoutar o campamento.”I like this sentences because i think that

represent the true friendship
