    Summary

    In this seminar report theoretical and practical procedure for the analysis of differentstudies on the electrical system is detailed, which are: Short Analysis, load flowanalysis, analysis of Protection Coordination and Arc Flash study.In Chapter I the general characteristics of the program, which details what the ETAP

    program, the technical specifications of software, the structure of your database, itslibraries, the help button of the program and how they are created are describedautomatic backups of the Projects.In Chapter II an introduction to using the software implementation, such as creating auser account and a new project is done, besides the main screen and the toolbarsdescribed, finally a basic line diagram is created and analyzed their output reports.In Chapter III the option of Load Flow Analysis program, which consists of anintroduction to the analysis in power systems, the steps to configure the Load Flow

    Analysis, calculation methods, is reviewed and finally creates a test pattern whereanalysis results and output reports.In Chapter IV the option of short circuit analysis program, which provides an introduction

    to the Analysis of Short in power systems, the basic configuration of this study in ETAP,general editor of case studies, a window case is reviewed Study Short, methods of shortcircuit calculation, and the creation of a test pattern.In Chapter V option Arc Flash Analysis program, which consists of an introduction to the

    Arc Flash analysis in power systems is reviewed the steps to configure Arc Flashanalysis, calculation methodology, creating a test model, and concludes an analysis ofresults.8In Chapter VI the option Protection Coordination program, which consists of anintroduction to coordination in power systems, a description of the toolbar of ProtectionCoordination, is revised configuration editor case study , the calculation methods for the

    sequence of operation, and also the creation of a test model.9IntroductionNeedless to say that technological development in recent times has experiencedsignificant progress, which goes hand in hand with the development of increasinglyspecialized programs and simple to use for handling situations and possible problemsthat may arise in the industrial scenario .ETAP is a program that meets these characteristics, since its focus is on playexperience simple and comprehensive management for all types of users, withoutneglecting the idea that ETAP is a software designed by and for engineers, especiallyfor those linked to the electricity industry.

    ETAP provides essential tools in the development of studies from different industrialactivities, one of the most important, their ability to develop monitoring and real-timeanalysis of an electrical system. This capability makes it an essential tool in today,without neglecting the enormous potential that, and whose characteristics are discussedin this report, trying to deliver clear and as brief as possible based on their performanceto understand their practical operation.

    As mentioned above ETAP software is designed by and for engineers whose versatilitymakes it an essential for the development of the profession in handling situations that
