Jesus tells us this Sunday not to be afraid of those who “kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and the body in Gehenna.” Clearly Jesus is explaining that we are not to be afraid of anything or anyone of this world for it is only our bodies which can be harmed; then, who should we be afraid of? Are we to be afraid of God, who does have the power to destroy us? It is not Satan, whom we should fear because, although powerful, the evil one is stuck in the world and has no authority over our souls. Although God expects respectful fear, the Father desires our love and commitment not destruction. We are to take on the fear of respect which acknowledges the Father’s power; however, placing our confidence and total trust into that same power of God. The fear of the Lord is not that of trembling and fright but that of desiring give the God respect, honor, and to have assurance in His Love. The one we should fear with fright, out of distrust, is ourselves. So often we betray our goals of holy goodness putting our trust into the things of the world, self absorption, and simple pig headedness. We are to fear the lack of dependability in ourselves for it is the choices we make in life whether to be for God or for ourselves, which sends us to the glory of heaven or the destruction of Gehenna. This week put aside yourself and pride; turn to the Father the source and goal of all life; and accept His abundant mercy. It is foolish to pass up opportunities of mercy. Know that the difficulties of this world are small compared to a life of eternity and the goodness of the Father.

Jesús nos dice este domingo que no tengamos miedo de aquellos que “matan el cuerpo pero no pueden matar el alma; más bien, ten miedo de quien puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en Gehenna ". Claramente Jesús está explicando que no debemos temer a nada ni a nadie de este mundo, ya que solo nuestros cuerpos pueden ser dañados; entonces, ¿a quién debemos temer? ¿Debemos temer a Dios, quien tiene el poder de destruirnos? No es Satanás, a quien debemos temer porque, aunque poderoso, el maligno está atrapado en el mundo y no tiene autoridad sobre nuestras almas. Aunque Dios espera temor respetuoso, el Padre desea nuestro amor y compromiso, no la destrucción. Debemos asumir el miedo al respeto que reconoce el poder del Padre; sin embargo, colocando nuestra confianza y total confianza en ese mismo poder de Dios. El temor del Señor no es el temblor y el miedo, sino el deseo de dar a Dios respeto, honor y seguridad en su amor. Al que debemos temer con miedo, por desconfianza, somos nosotros mismos. Muy a menudo traicionamos nuestros objetivos de bondad santa poniendo nuestra confianza en las cosas del mundo, la autoabsorción y la simple cabeza de cerdo. Hmmmm… Is something different about the Liturgy?
The liturgy will be abridged and music limited.
There will be no sign of peace or holding of hands.
Holy Communion will be distributed after the final blessing so that once you have received our Lord, you will be able to leave immediately reducing movement in the church. Each family group will approach the altar to receive the Eucharist together.
Missals will not be available. Please take one Missal. If you are a large family take two Missals for your family and bring it to Mass every week.

EVERY OTHER PEW: You will notice that your favorite pew might not be available. We are required to block off every other pew to allow for greater distance between wor-shipers. Ushers will direct you to your pew or seat. There is a limit of one hundred max capacity with the six-foot social distancing. In order to accommodate everyone, over flow will be on the patio, parish hall, Briscoe Hall, and youth room. There will be a place for you.

To honor all fathers, grandfathers, godfathers and the
other special men in our lives, we are offering a Novena of
Nine Holy Masses that will begin on Father’s Day, June
21, 2020.Whether our fathers are living or deceased, this
gift of prayer is a beautiful way to show our deep appreci-
ation for their sacrificial love.
To have your father added to those we pray for, please fill
out the Father’s Day Novena envelope. Place the special enve-
lope with your donation in the collection box in the church.
May God bestow abundant graces on our fathers who are still
with us and take into His Kingdom the ones who have already
passed away.

Para honrar a todos los padres, abuelos, padrinos y otros
hombres especiales en nuestras vidas, estamos ofreciendo
una Novena de Nueve Santas Misas que comenzará el
Día del Padre, 21 de junio de 2020. Ya sea que nuestros
padres estén vivos o fallecidos, este regalo de oración es
una hermosa manera de mostrar nuestro profundo aprecio
por su amor sacrificial.
Para que tu padre sea agregado a aquellos por quienes oramos,
llena el sobre para la Novena del Día del Padre. Coloca el sobre
especial con tu donación en la caja de la colecta en la iglesia.

Blessing of Fathers
God and Father of all creation,
we come before you today with humble hearts.
You are our model of a loving father.
When we fail and fall short of your expectations,
you are always there at the end of the day with open arms,
ready to heal the cuts and scrapes of the day
and to encourage us to try again and not to give up.
We hold up these men in our midst who act in the world
as fathers to their children or models of fathers for others.
Bless them in their moments of doubt and frustration
with their children.
Give them warm and open hearts to forgive failures.
Provide them with the words needed for
encouragement and perseverance.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus.

Dios en su infinito amor te escogió a ti como varón, para cumplir una gran misión, ¡ser padre!, la cual iniciaste al momento de transmitir la semilla de la vida a tu mujer, mediante el acto conyugal, y que al ger-minar y ser protegida dentro de su vientre, maduró y creció hasta ver la luz de este mundo. ¡Vida de la cual eres custodio, pues estas encargado de proteger, vigilar, guardar, amparar y defender en cada momento! ¡Ser padre es uno de los acontecimientos más maravillosos que le puede suceder a un hombre, pues le da sentido y dirección a su vida en esta tierra, además de hacerlo participe de la Creación de Dios. Ser padre es conocer la plenitud del amor, la cual lo hace capaz de entregar todo, sin reservas, a cada instante, por su familia y por sus hijos hasta verlos madurar y preparados con las herramientas necesarias para en-frentar ellos solos la vida. ¡Querido padre, eres el reflejo del amor de Dios en esta tierra! Tus hijos conocen a Dios a través de ti. Tu cercanía con tus hijos varones, les da la fuerza y la masculinidad que les es nece-saria y los hace capaces de amar y sostener a su mujer y a sus hijos tanto emocional como económicamente. Y a tus hijas las reafirma en su feminidad, las hace más seguras, y les da las pautas para que ellas es-cojan a un hombre. Pues para ellas, tú eres el hombre más importante de su vida, su primer amor, su primer representante del sexo opuesto, y querrán ser tratadas y respetadas de igual manera que trataste y re-spetaste tanto a su madre, como a ella misma. Pídele a Dios que te sostenga y que cada día te dé más sabiduría y capacidad de amar, para poder conducir a tu pequeño rebaño por esta vida y puedas transmitir a tus hijos, a tu familia la imagen viva del Dios mismo. Que San José, sea tu modelo humano a seguir, para poder vencer las adversidades de la vida y poder defender a tu familia con todas las fuerzas de que eres capaz. A ti querido padre, en este día tan especial, reconocemos y ben-decimos tu gran misión. ¡FELIZ DIA DE LOS PADRES!

I’d would like to thank all of the parishioners that assisted
with disinfecting the church this last weekend. It is truly a
job were many hands make light work. With your help we
are able to maintain our compliance with regulations and
eliminated the cost of hiring a cleaning crew. As of this mo-
ment I do not know when this cleaning will end, but as I re-
ceive any new information or changes regarding disinfecting
and cleaning from the Diocese and the county, I will pass it
on to you. Once again Thank You very much and if you
know of fellow parishioners that would like to help please
invite them to your Mass and show them how it’s done.
Me gustaría agradecer a todos los feligreses que ayudaron a
desinfectar la iglesia este último fin de semana. Es realmente
un trabajo donde muchas manos hacen un trabajo ligero. Con
su ayuda, podemos mantener nuestro cumplimiento de las
