PAGE 6—THE CITIZEN-TIMES, Scottsville, Ky., Thursday, January 19, 2012 The wedding of Beth Anna Oliphant and Christopher Joseph Herrington took place Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Prior to the ceremo- ny, a wedding shower was held July 17 at The Lyric on Main, as well as a bridal tea on August 20 at Enchanted Celebrations in Scottsville. The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Tana Oliphant and the granddaughter of Buel “Red” and Sue Petty, Billie Ann Oliphant, all of Scottsville, and the late J.W. Oliphant. The groom is the son of Eddie Herrington and Hu- berta Blankenship and the grandson of Joe and Joan Herrington of Scottsville and the late Rev. Hubert and Wilma Gilliam. The September 10 outdoor ceremony took place at the Historic L & N Train Depot in Bowling Green, Ky., at 4 p.m. Guests were seated fac- ing the front of the depot, which was garnished with white columns holding ferns and arrangements of white roses. The bride wore a white Allure gown made with a gathered silk corset-style bodice with embellishments of crystals and beading on the one-shoulder strap and at the hip. The skirting on the gown was adorned with layered organza and con- sisted of a small train. Her crystal chandelier earrings matched the white rhine- stones on her sapphire blue shoes. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, sap- phire blue delphiniums and green hypericum berries, surrounding the gold wed- ding band once worn by her late grandfather. The maid of honor was Jordan Oliphant, sister of the bride; and Stephanie Hood, cousin of the bride, Joanie Medley, best friend of the bride, served as brides maids. The bridesmaids each wore sapphire blue, one-shouldered, gathered silk dresses that met at the knee and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas and green hypericum berries. Alena Herrington, sister of the groom, attended the guest registry. The groom and his grooms- men wore tan colored suits, accented by sapphire-blue ties and pocket squares. Ja- son Mays, best friend of the groom, served as best man; and Bradley Brown, broth- er of the groom, Josh Ford, friend of the groom, served as groomsmen. The Rev. Jimmy Turner officiated the ceremony. A reception followed in- side the depot, where guests were greeted by white hy- drangea and ivy-inspired table centerpieces. Light- ed, white tulle served as a backdrop for the light blue tiered, deep blue trimmed wedding cake, lightly deco- rated with hydrangea pet- als and stems. Guests dined on chicken salad croissants, olive-nut spread on heart- shaped bread and an array of fruits and cheeses. The couple honeymooned in Savannah, Ga., and Hil- ton Head, S.C.. They now reside in Scottsville, where the bride serves as Execu- tive Director of the Scotts- ville-Allen County Chamber of Commerce and the groom specializes in material han- dling consultation at MH Equipment Company.
