Tom Dowling restored this Stanley Handyman #4hand plane and is donating it to MMWG to be one of the prizes in the member drawing at the January membership meeting. See below for more photos of this plane.

Tom also has a variety of wooden parts – many for toy making - he will be giving away, totally free for the taking. They will be things like headlights and barrels. You might pick up Shaker wooden pegs, too.

Woodworkers Guild

2017 was a great year for the Mid-Michigan Woodworkers Guild, and 2018 is shaping up to be an even better year. With over 100 talented members, a new set of bylaws, and some great programs being lined up for the membership meetings, we are certainly playing a big role in promoting woodworking.

At the January board meeting, we accepted the nomination of Fred Koos to the secretary position and will be bringing his nomination to the membership meeting on January 16 for a vote. The success of the guild is dependent on members like Fred and others who are

willing to step forward and serve a few hours per month. We need a few more people to step forward and serve a few more positions for the New Year. Most pressing is the need for a new newslettereditor. This issue will be the last one prepared by previous president, Russ Rogers, and he’s willing to sit down with the new editor and share the templates and process. This is not a great burden and should only take a couple hours per month to prepare. Any member with basic word processing skills and email can handle this small but important job for the guild. If you are interested, please let one of the board members know.Matt Rosendaul

Lots of goodies for good little woodworkers.

Enjoying the food and the great company.

Oh, come on, already. If you buy enough tickets you

have to win something, right?

Hey! That's just what I needed!

All the excuse I need to buy a router table … and a really good fence

… and a cyclone dust collector… and a heated workshop… and a portable sawmill

… and a kiln

What would a holiday gathering be without lots of good food
