Modus Operandi of the Accused:The accused James is identified as the master mind ofthis crime. He operates from Nigeria and targets the company/firm e-mail ids in India

and hacks them by sending phishing mails. Through phishing mails, he collects the credentials of internet banking and registered mobile

number etc. He then shares the credentials of bank accounts i.e., details of company name/account holder, address and registered mobile

number with 3 of his accomplices, Odafe Henry & Rajat Kundu and Santosh Benerjee. According to the instructions given by James from

Nigeria, Rajat Kundu collects the registered mobile number, details of bank account through his sources at mobile telecom stores. After

obtaining the mobile subscriber details, he prepares fake documents and facsimile rubber stamps in the name of the company and hands

over the fake documents/facsimile rubber stamps to Chandan Verma through Santhosh for obtaining new SIM card. According to the

instructions of Rajat Kundu, Chandan Verma used to visit the city where the company of victim is located along with Sanjib Das. By

submitting fake documents, the accused used to collect new SIM card from the concerned telecom stores of the mobile service providers.

After procuring new SIM card by the accused on Saturday evenings, the same is handed over to the accused Rajat immediately for carrying

out fraudulent transactions from the bank account ofthe company. On receiving the new SIM card (registered mobile number to the bank

account) the same is informed toJames for carrying out fraud transactions. In turn the accused James, carries out net banking transactions from the bank account of the company/victim and transfers the funds from

the account ofthe company/victim by using the OTPsgenerated on the new SIM (mobile number) card, obtained by the accused Rajat. The

OTPs received for doing net banking transactions by Rajat, in turn informs to James for carrying outtransfer offunds from the bank account

of company. The amounts are then transferred into the account of Santosh Banerjee, which got opened on the instructions of Chandan

Verma. Once the amounts were transferred into the accounts of Chandan, the same were either withdrawn from different locations or

utilized for purchasing gold ornaments from shops. Once the gold ornaments were converted in the form of cash by Santhosh, the same is

handed overto OdafHenry. On receipt of the amount by Odaf, he procures articles/goods at Kolkata on the instructions of James and ships them to Nigeria. So far the

accused has targeted many companies in various parts of the country.

Thanking you,Warm Regards,
