Civilian Logistics Career Field Education and Training Plan

(CFETP)

CFETP for civilian logistics managers provides the framework and guidance necessary for planning, developing, managing, and conducting a career field-training program.

Purpose of CFETP:• Identifies requirements for each skill level and recommends

training for each phase of career.--“training roadmap” for the career field.

• Lists training courses available in the specialty and identifies sources of training.

• Identifies major resource constraints that impact implementation of the desired career field-training program.

Page 9 I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e

CFETP content

Part I provides information about the Logistics Career Field necessary for overall management of the career field

Section A explains how the plan will be used Section B identifies career field progression information, training strategies, and

a notional depiction of the career path Section C outlines roles and their associated levels of responsibility and general

scope of work. Section D, indicates resource constraints. Some examples are funds,

manpower, equipment, and facilities.

Part II provides a listing of training courses and programs that meet functional and leadership training requirements.

Section A identifies the course content and includes duties and tasks to support AFIT, Civilian Development Education (CDE) and unit training requirements

Section B training and course index Section C identifies available support materials Section D contains a follow-on unit training task list that supervisors will use to

teach new acquisition managers local operating/unit specific procedures and operations, requirements, and common acquisition management procedures

Section E can be used to identify MAJCOM unique training requirements.

CFETP-Target Audience

Target Population. • This CFETP is intended for the entire civilian Logistics workforce,

currently focusing on the Operational and Strategic Levels (GS 9-15).

• The specific WG/WS/WL and lower grade GS requirements will be included at a later date.

Covers Civilians Performing Logistics mission related duties in these GS occupational series:

• 301*, 343*, 346, 856*, 0895, 1101*, 1150, 1152, 1601, 1670, 1910*, 20XX, 21XX
