You will be surprised of the impact your work will have on hundreds of other people. And on you. What does the role involve? For our Health Program in Ethiopia, VSO is currently recruiting paediatricians for Adwa Hospital, Wolaita Sodo Hospital and Alamata Hospital. As paediatrician you'll be sharing skills and knowledge with staff in the paediatrics department and providing clinical services in the hospital. Your job will be to perform medical examinations, diagnose, prescribe medicine and treatment. You'll also audit neonatal and paediatric morbidity. You'll manage medical documentation and advise how to improve the information system in place. During medical conferences you'll address complicated paediatric cases. You'll help set up a neonatal unit in the hospital. Skills, qualifications and experience required At least 2 years of relevant professional experience You have a Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) Ability to work with limited resources, flexibility and adaptability Experience working in diverse multicultural teams Fluent in English And the rest.... We’ll ask you to commit to at least 612 months to make a sustainable contribution to our development goals. In return, we will give you Home country funded allowance, medical insurance, travel costs, accommodation and an allowance to cover your basic living expenses while overseas. Above all, we’ll give you a chance to gain a new life experience and professional development in an international setting.
