Some of you may have
noticed scaffolding
around the school in the
last few weeks…
We had new asphalt laid
over the holidays and
we are getting the Blue
Court repainted.
The newly laid ground is
looking great and we
can’t wait to re-open
the Blue Court
Message from the Principal
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful teachers who have worked tirelessly to
support our kids during this very trying time. I have been inundated with messages of gratitude from our
parents and I cannot begin to tell you how heartening this has been to receive.
To our parents and carers, I would also like to say well done! You have been charged with a task that you
had no training or preparation for and yet you have done an amazing job.
I would like to share some positive reflections from a parent regarding their opportunity to support their
children’s learning:
We could witness their growth in a way we hadn’t since they learnt to walk and say their first words.
Thrust upon us was incredible insight into our family. A gift in a crazy time. Now I get it. Why teachers
love to teach. It’s a true privilege to guide and mentor a young person. It’s vital.
It’s brilliant and it’s hard work.

For the past six weeks 2 Yellow have embraced the learning from home lessons with enthusiasm and excitement. As their teacher, I am so proud of the way they have adjusted to this new way of learning and feel it has empowered them with new skills and a new level of resilience.
Well done everyone, including parents and caregivers. Here is a snapshot of students actively engaged in home learning. They have been busy drawing, playing, singing, exercising, speaking, making, cooking, designing, writing and just being kids.
Congratulations my 2 Yellow beauties.

STORIES FROM 4/3 ORANGE
Here are some poems 4/3 Orange have written this week, inspired by the "I don't want a pet snake" poem
in the School Magazine.
4/3 Orange also loved coming back to school to learn some coding and the algorithm language of
computers and robots.
The snake is asleep on a piece of bark,
On its back is a mark
They sleep all night and all day
That’s what people say.
~ By Amy
I don’t want a hat
That’s as small as a rat
I don’t want a hat
That’s furry as my cat,
I don’t want a hat
That’s bigger than a mat
I just want a hat
That fits – that’s that.
~ By Isaiah
I have a tricky pen
But it’s not as tricky as my egg-laying hen
The people who use it are mainly men
Even though I don’t know when.
~ By Gadston and Taj
Silly, slimy, slithery snakes – I don’t want one!
I’d rather have a dog or cat.
I don’t want one.
All crazy and shivers me out,
Swallows their food whole,
Really disgusting
I do agree.
Slither round the house
Getting ready to pounce
On their prey or on a mouse.
~ By Sam
The pin took a spin,
Which lead it to the bin,
Finn closed the tin bin,
But then broke his shin.
~ By David and Kaiden
ANZAC DAY POEMS BY SENIOR RED STUDENTS
Anzac Day
By Lara Kean
Cold, red, blood dripping out
of the wounded ones. Bullets flying past
the window twenty-four seven. The Europeans
holding big grey guns. Many ready to go
to heaven. Everyone is on the watch,
for Bullets… All are strong and
fighting for their country.
