The Children’s Nursing Symposium will update in theareas of eating disorders, newborn screening program, respiratorysyncytial virus (RSV), pediatric hypertension, neonatal and pediatricbowel obstruction, and car seat safety.

Participants will:

• Identify two causes that put teenagers at high risk for eating disorders.

• List two ways to educate parents on best practice for childpassenger safety.

• Describe the two main objectives of newborn screening process,philosophy and function in California.

• List two physical indicators on nursing assessment that indicatespediatric hypertension.

• List two treatment modalities of intestinal obstructive issues.

• Identify three physical signs and symptoms of RSV.
