 Julie  Payne,  LMFT    Julie  Payne  is  a  Licensed,  Marriage  and  Family    Therapist  (LMFT)  in  the  states  of  California  and  Texas  with  years  of  experience  working  with  children,  adults  and  families  in  both  community  mental  health  and  private  practice  settings.    Julie  has  an  interest  in  working  with  military  veterans  and  families  and  is  well  trained  in  Trauma  informed  practice.  Julie  has  focused  the  past  several  years  of  her  practice  in  working  with  clients  who  experience  chronic  pain/illness  and  is  very  familiar  with  the  common  psychosocial  stressors  associated  with  physical  pain  and  illness.        Julie  has  also  received  advanced  training  in  various  Evidence  Based  Practices  such  as  ASIST  model,  MAP  and  TF-­‐CBT  and  is  certified  as  a  MAP  supervisor.    In  her  private  practice,  Julie  has  also  worked  with  clients  who  experience  depression,  anxiety,  employment  issues,  relationship  issues  and  stress.

• Participants  will  review  the  pros  and  cons  of  utilizing  self-­‐disclosure  when  working  with  clients  who  experience  chronic  pain/illness.      

 

                                 Course  Description:  This  webinar  focuses  on  specific  dynamics  related  to  working  with  clients  who  suffer  from  chronic  pain/  illness.    The  different  illnesses  and  types  of  pain  that  are  commonly  experienced  by  clients  will  be  covered.  Family  dynamics,  work  related  issues  and  myths  associated  with  chronic  pain  would  be  reviewed.    Other  high-­‐risk  issues  associated  with  chronic  pain  will  be  discussed.    A  review  of  materials  needed  to  have  a  functional  therapeutic  tool  kit  as  well  as  how  to  be  creative  with  everyday  articles  found  around  the  house.    Use  of  self  and  counter  transference  as  they  apply  to  the  treatment  of  chronic  pain  will  be  reviewed.      Incredibly  Inspirational    2009A  Palo  Verde  Ave.  Long  Beach,  CA  90815
