    Dear New Owner:

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your recent

purchase of one of our new Vintage Reproduction automobiles.

These unique cars have been built with great care, and extensive engineering

research and development has gone into creating a truly functional fun car

for you. However, your Vintage Reproduction is only a fun car...it is by

no means ment to replace the family car or to be subjected to careless driv-

ing or the elements. If you continue to give your new Vintage Reproduction

the loving care with which is was designed and built, it will give you years

    and years of carefree fun.

The engine, transmission, and components are high; quality products from well

known manufacturers. however, their size and weight does not make them suit-

able for racing, hill climbing, or driving on rough terrain; care should be

taken to avoid speeds in excess of 25 m.p.h., and speed shifting will result

    in damage to the transmission.

A little tenderness must be extended to the car finish as well...it was not

meant to be exposed to rough weather, snow, rain, heavy winds, etc. Periodic

cleaning and waxing is necessary to keep your Vintage Reproduction looking

like new. The All-Weather Cover (available as an accessory) should be used

to protect your car when not in use if you have no available garage facilities.

The Vintage Reproductions staff joins me in wishing you and your new VintageReproduction auto a long and happy relationship together. We are more than

happy to hear from you and help you with any questions or problems that may

develop, so please do not hesitate to write or call.

    Happy motoring!

    Most sincerely yours,

    Charles A. Massing, Jr.

    DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS

    Starting:

    1. Make sure car is in neutral gear, or idling position.

    2. Turn ignition key to on position.

    3. Depress starter button with left foot and accelerator pedal with

right foot. Choking necessary on a cold start.

    4. Release starter button after engine catches, depress choke.

    5. Shift car into desired gear. (See Diagram)

    6. Depress accelerator and go. CAUTION: When car is standing still, NEVER

shift from neutral to any other gear when engine is running faster than

a normal idling speed. To do so, may result in permanent damage to the

    transmission.

Driving Dos and Donts (SHIFTING INSTRUCTIONS READ CAREFULLY)

To engage transmission, begin with car idling and in Neutral Gear (position #1)

gently shift into Low Gear (Position #2), and accelerate to desired speed.

To shift into High Gear (Position #3), release the gas pedal and SIMULTANEOUSLY

shift into gear. DO NOT force your car into gear. If it does not shift easily,

accelerate again and repeat the process. DO NOT allow car to slow down too much

and create a drag on the transmission or it will not shift properly. Bring the

car to a complete stop before attempting to shift into reverse, (Position #4).

DO NOT accelerate to speeds in excess of 25 mph.

    BRAKING SYSTEM

Your Vintage Reproduction has internal expanding mechanical brakes on all four

wheels, comparable to the brakes on a conventional car. Each wheel has two

brake adjusting studs; one on each end of the brake cable housing. To tighten

simply turn adjustment studs counter clockwise. There is an additional adjustment

which tightens all four wheels at the same time directly on the bottom of the foot

brake lever under the floorboard. (To tighten) the clevis must be removed from the

foot brake lever, turned clockwise and replaced. Th achieve maximum braking power

the brakes should be adjusted so the rear wheels brake ahead of the front wheels.

The emergency brake adjustment stud is located at the front underside of the car,

and should be adjusted to receive maximum braking power when handle is pulled

    up and locked in position.

    LIGHTS

The headlight and turn signal switches are located on the instrument panel directly

under the drivers left knee on the fire wall. Th activate headlights simply

pull knob out, push in to turn them off. For high or low beams depress foot switch

located in the far left corner of the floorboard. High beams are indicated

by the red light located on the back of the left headlight. The turn signal switch

is located on the extreme left end of the instrument panel, to activate, simply

push and hold the lever in the direction you wish to turn until turn has been

    executed, then release.

    Tires

Correct tire pressure is 40 pounds.

    Gasoline

All Vintage Reproductions automobiles run on regular octane gasoline.

Take care not to fill the tank to capacity, but leave a little room

for expansion, and be sure the valve under the gas tank is open.

    Engine

We have filled the engine crankcase with oil for you, and have enclosed

the service and operating manual for the engine. Ti is advisable to

read the manual carefully and follow all instructions for use and main-

tenance they have set down. The crankcase oil level should be checked

frequently at oil level hole on the left side base of the crankcase.

Oil level should be maintained at top of the opening.

    Battery

Your car battery is a 12 volt, 40 amp per hour battery of high quality. To

keep your battery operating at its peak capacity, the water level should be

checked at least one each 30 days. CAUTION: Use only distilled water, and

    do not overfill.

Batteries left in low charged condition for prolonged amount of time may

    result in permanent damage.

    FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

The front wheel alignment should be checked periodically to assure maximum

    tire life.

    Proper toe-in of front wheels - 1/8 inch + 1/16 inch.

To check toe-in: Measure between the tires at the front of the front wheels

10 off the ground - this distance should be 1/8 inch closer that the same

location at the rear of the front wheels.

To correct toe-in: Simply loosen the jam nuts at each end of the long tie rod,

turn the tie rod one way or the other until proper toe-in is obtained.

    (retighten jam nuts)

    LUBRICATION

For the periodic lubrication your Vintage Reproduction requires we

recommend SAE #30 oil The following points should be lubricated:

Front Wheels . . Remove the front wheels and apply a thin coating of oil

    to the axle shaft.

Front Spindles . Using a grease gun apply a small amount periodically

to each of the front wheel spindles at the grease fitting.

    DO NOT OVERGREASE. . . . . .

Rear Axle and Wheels . . .NO LUBRICATION NECESSARY

Tiller Column Bearing . . Put a drop of oil at the base of the tiller column.

    Chain . . . . . . . . . Periodically spray a small amount of chain lubrication

    on chain.

    FINISH

Maintance of Paint . . Lemon Pledge of Furniture Spray Wax. Polish with

    soft cloth.
