Location

• Situated on the lower slopes of the extinct volcano, Mount Vulture, in the district of Lavello.

• This old farming community is officially recognized as “Wine Town” in the Basilicata region of southern Italy.

Location

• The Estate extends over hillside rich in flora and fauna, characterized by a Mediterranean microclimate.

• A natural balance of temperature changes characterizes this terroir, with its calcareous and clay loam soils, rich in potassium and ideal for vines and olives.

History

• After many years in the corporate food industry, Mario Bisceglia decided to return to his homeland and start his own wine company

• The Bisceglia estate was founded in 2001• His goal is to continually produce world-class wines made with both

indigenous and international varietals grown in the Basilicata region.• The Bisceglia Company is currently an important and dynamic reality

marketing an assortment of top quality products.

• The wine making philosophy is to join personality, quality, research and product innovation together to produce world class wines made from both indigenous and international varietals.

The Vineyard

• 96 acres of vines in the heart of the DOC appellation• Shared by single native varieties of Aglianico DOC, Basilicata Moscato and

Basilicata Fiano as well as a selection of the international vine varieties Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay.

• The Estate also produces other native vine varieties from the Campania region (Falanghina) and the Puglia region (Negroamaro Rosé and Primitivo).

Owner• Mario Bisceglia began his career at 18, as a grocery salesman in the

south of Italy.• In school he specialized in consulting

agencies for sales, marketing and trade.• Mario founded the Bisceglia Winery in 2001.• In 2005, he became President of the estate, the Basilicata Region

Manufacturers’ Association and of Agro Industrial District of Vulture area.

Tréje Basilicata IGT

• 34% Aglianico, 33% Merlot and 33% Syrah • Tréje in local dialect means “three,” which refers

to the trio of grapes that make up this wine.• The grapes are all hand-picked and vinified

separately to respect the varietal character of each. All three are refined in oak casks.

• Displays expressive aromas of ripe red currants, blackberries and luscious plums. On the palate, it is velvety and well-structured with silky tannins.

• Pairs brilliantly with elaborate red or white meat dishes, chorizo, and ripe, flavorful cheeses.
