Welcome to Indisposable Concept!

1 roll of film over 1 week with 24 (ish) opportunities to capture the indisposable world around you.

Indisposable.adj. Of or pertaining to something that is not disposable; something that one cannot do without.

Indisposable Concept (IC) is the process of using one roll of film from one disposable camera to capture and share the world around you through a sequence of shots. The beauty of this process is that each shot taken is unique and untouched. The images can’t be deleted, only a certain number of shots are available and nothing is revealed until the photos have been developed. This is a raw exercise capturingthe world around you in it’s purest form, an experiment built to explore human interaction and gain insight into different peoples lives across a broad demographic.

What are the most important things in your life? How do you see them and how do you interpret the world around you? It’s up to you to capture the moments, the people, the world you live in via themedium of film, but it must be a disposable camera. You can focus the entire roll on one subjector numerous subjects that you love and hold dear, as long as it portrays what’s unique and‘indisposable’ to you.

Share the moments from your world - your work, your friends, your family. Show the world what ishappening in your life - your holiday, your town, your night out, your brand, your work. The concept is open and free to interpretation, how you capture and tell your stories is totally up to you.

You have a week to capture your moments and share your stories but timelines are flexible so don’t stress if you take longer then a week. Your folio will be featured on www.indisposableconcept.comas well as www.facebook.com/IndisposableConcept with selected photos appearing on ourInstagram feed @indisposableconcept as well as our Tumblr and Flickr.

AnsWErs TO FAQ.

We thought we’d try and clarify a few things and make it possible for everyone to be involved and understand the various parts of the concept as well as possible. Please see below. Let us know if we’ve missed anything, if there’s anything that doesn’t make sense or other info you’d like to know. We will try to shed some light where we can.

Q. Is it free to do?A. We do encourage the purchase of your own disposable camera which costs between $5-$15 AUS.

Q. Can I shoot on my digital camera?A. Indisposable Concept is a FILM only concept, no digital photos please. All photos must be shot using a disposable camera.

Q. Can anyone do this?A. Indisposable Concept is open to everyone to contribute.

Q. Can I contribute multiple rolls?A. You can shoot and contribute as many rolls as you like.

Q. How long do I get to take all the photos?A. You have 1 WEEK and 1 ROLL OF FILM to capture and tell your stories. PLEAsE nOTE: It’s ok if your disposable hasmore than 24 exposures and the roll takes longer then a week to complete. Just have fun and submit when you can.

Q. Where can I see my photos once they are developed?A. We post all the photos on our website; indisposableconcept.com We encourage people to comment on each photo and share the story behind each moment with us. We will then feature your words on the site and Facebook coinciding with the photos that you have captured on your roll. Select photos will also be featured on our Instagram, Tumblr and Flickr accounts.

Q. Do I need to use a specific kind of disposable camera?A. Not necessarily. Any disposable camera is fine to use. The quality is very similar across the board but if you can get one with 27 exposures and a high ISO of about 800 than it makes the process a bit easier and gives you more opportunities to snap that perfect moment.

Q. I am not living in Australia; can I still contribute?A. Yes. The project is open to everyone who lives on Planet Earth.More details on our website on how to contribute at http://indisposableconcept.com/contributing-in-4-easy-steps/

Q. Is there anything I need to know before I start capturing the world around me?A. There is an INFO PACK available to download, you’re reading it now. It provides a description of the project and a few things to keep in mind. It is located at the top of the INSTRUCTIONS page http://indisposableconcept.com/instructions/. You can save and/or print this so you can get started on your Indisposable week.

We want to be your friend and our door is always open. If you’ve got any ideas or would like to contribute or work with us than please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to talking with you soon. Thanks for your support and awesomeness!

Hi there,

Thanks for contributing to Indisposable Concept and taking the time to capture and share the world around you! It

has truly been an amazing experience and journey so far. If you’re still working on your roll, we hope you’re enjoying

the process and can’t wait to get your film developed. We’d love to share your experiences and get to know what

you found interesting and insightful about the process. If you can spare a few minutes of your time, we’d love you

to answer the following questions.

1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?

2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know

what the photos turned out like?

3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?

4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?

5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?

6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?

7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?

8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?

9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?

10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.

11.) Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?

Thanks again for your time, we appreciate your support and enthusiasm and willingness to get involved in the

concept. It’s been a rewarding experience so far and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed talking with you and getting an

insight into your unique and wonderful worlds.

We hope to hear from you soon.
