celebration of Word and Sacrament, one another, nature, and our thirst to create a just world.
NOVEMBER 18, 2018 : THE 33RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH
Stewardship
This weekend marks the begin-
ning of our annual stewardship
campaign; a time for us to
ponder how we take care of
what belongs to God. It truly is
more than money. Steward-
ship allows us to recognize,
strengthen, and use God’s gifts
within us.
As the baptized, we are called
into community and to active-
ly return to God a portion of
our many gifts. This weekend is
set aside for us to spend time
reflecting on the gifts provided
by God and for us to deter-
mine how we plan to share
these gifts to serve others through our parish. There are many ways to share
your gifts; through worship, prayer, financial giving, and areas of service, all
of these are expressions of our gratitude for the gifts given to us by God.
Contribution Envelope Changes
I also want to introduce a new way of receiving your contribution enve-
lopes beginning in January. We will no longer be utilizing the boxed sets of
envelopes. We have decided to work with a new contribution envelope
provider which utilizes periodic mailing. The only thing that will change is
that the envelope packets will be mailed directly to your home bi-monthly,
that’s right directly to you. While you will notice few changes in the enve-
lopes themselves, I hope you appreciate this new convenience.
Children’s envelopes will no longer be individually assigned, but rather they
will be available for any children attending mass to pick up and to either
print a good deed or provide information for time, talent and treasure. The
children’s envelopes are already being used and can be found on the cart
near the adult and children’s bulletins. Feel free to take extra home if you
wish.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact myself in
the parish office. Thank you for your continued support to St. John the Bap-
tist Parish.

Advent Reconciliation Service We will be hosting our annual Advent Reconciliation Prayer Service on Thursday, December 13th at 7:00PM. When the daily activities and life seem to overwhelm us, as they might at this time of year, it is good to pause and to reflect on the lives of Mary and Elizabeth, who were open to God’s activity in their lives. We encourage you to take some time out of your busy schedule to lift up your burdens and settle your soul with Christ in the form of song, personal reflection, penance and/or communal participation. Afterwards, stay and enjoy hospitality: hot cider and holiday desserts.
Welcome Please extend a hearty St. John the Baptist parish welcome to new parish members: Gina and Jeff Benson and family. The Benson’s reside in Albany. Jeff works in Marketing at Stearns Bank and Gina is a substitute teacher. Welcome to our faith community, Benson family!

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
This Thanksgiving, let us remember all
the good things, and people, who
have come into our lives. We focus
on thanking each one who has
helped us, and ultimately thank God
for the good gifts of this world.
