Q. What do we pray for in the first petition? A. In the first petition, (which is, Hallowed be thy name,) we pray, That God would enable us and others to glorify Him in all that whereby He maketh Himself known; and that He would dispose all things to His own glory. -Shorter Catechism, Question 101

Dear Congregation,

On Sunday, September 20th, we will be having a “Visitor’s Sunday”. What does that mean? We will be designing the morning service in such a way that your guests will be able to visit our church and hear songs and a message that is easier to grasp if they are unfamiliar with church language and practice. I.e., I will preach a simple gospel message and your visitor will be made to feel welcome. Would you join me in prayer as each of us considers who we might invite that day. We are preparing a gift to be given to your guest as a way of saying we are glad they came that Sunday.

Steve
