Jesus Teaches Us To Be “Sacrificial Servants”

(Luke 9:23-26; 57-62)✴ Self denial - i.e., deny

selfish desires & thoughts of self exaltation.

✴ Cross bearing - i.e., accept responsibilities & fulfill commitment to holiness no matter the cost!

✴ Dying to self - i.e., putting to death pride & all sin - living for God & others -

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your

reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be

transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of

God.

Being “Sacrificial Servants”1 Peter 1:13-19 (NKJV)

13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to

you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming

yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is

holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,


16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves

throughout the time of your stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you were not

redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,


19 but with the precious blood of

Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and

without spot.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NKJV) 14 For the love of Christ compels

us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15

and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for

themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Romans 6:13 (NKJV) 13 And do not present

your members as instruments of

unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from

the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.


Romans 6:16 (NKJV) 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to

obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey,

whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience

leading to righteousness?


Romans 6:19 (NKJV) 19 I speak in human terms

because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you

presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for

holiness.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the

Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God,

and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a

price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit,

which are God's.


Hebrews 13:15-16 (NKJV) 15 Therefore by Him let us

continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well

pleased.

stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up

spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God

through Jesus Christ.
