PASTOR’S CORNER
POPE FRANCIS’ INTENTIONS FOR
June 2017
National Leaders. That national leaders may firmly commit themselves to
ending the arms trade, which victimizes so many
innocent people.
Welcome one and all to the celebration of the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time. We are
delighted that you joined us for the celebration of Holy Mass.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us to trust in God and be a people of faith. It contains
the beautiful passage about sparrows: “Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?
Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the
hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many
sparrows.” We do not need to be afraid; we do not need to fear. No matter what hap-
pens to us, we will always have God.
That’s what Jesus is telling us today: trust God, don’t be afraid, and know that
whatever happens, you and I will be OK. He told this to his disciples in the Gospel
who chose to proclaim the Kingdom of God even if it would lead to their death. Their
deaths themselves would be a witness to the Love of God. The word martyr means
witness. He tells us to proclaim his Love to the world and hold fast to our Christianity.
As we approach the Eucharist, may our faith be strengthened and fortified by the
Eucharist. Jesus in the Eucharist is the greatest source of holiness and the greatest
cause of living and spreading the Gospel of love. Let us ask for God’s help to trust in
Him that we may remain steadfast in our faith.
May God bless your week.

ARCHBISHOP’S CATHOLIC
APPEAL
“…your prayer has been heard and your almsgiv-
ing remembered before God.” (Acts 10:31)
Donating to the 2017 Archbishop’s Catholic Ap-
peal is a powerful way of storing up treasure in
heaven. For when we help the needy, instruct the
youth, offer companionship to the lonely, and lead
others to the path of Christ, we perform these acts
of mercy in imitation of Christ and in the sight of
God, who will remember our deeds of kindness.
Please visit www.Archden.Org/GiveToday or
call 303.715.3111 to make your gift today.
COLECTA ANNUAL DEL
ARZOBISPO
Archden.Org/GiveToday o
llame al 303.715.3111 para hacer su donación hoy
mismo.
