Heirloom Films were born out of my love for a narrative, my belief that ev-eryone has a story to tell. Who are we, as individuals, but the collective stories and history of our family. I started to tell people about my dreams of this new project, and over and over I heard, “I wish I would have done that with my Mother,” or, “I wish I would have recorded my Grandfather’s stories.” We are all guilty of letting time steal away those should have’s, and most people don’t even know where to start. This service is not intended for any particular type of person, at any particu-lar time in their life. My goal is to create short films that are insight into a life, a person, and a story. Some of my subjects may be nearing the end of their journey, and want to leave a legacy of family lore. Some of my subjects may have already passed on, and their family members gather to regale each other with stories and celebrate the life of their loved one. And some of my subjects, just need to share their legacy.

The Process Each Heirloom Film will be as different as the individuals we are highlighting. I am purposefully, leaving the process open and flexible to accomodate every circumstance. Here are a few ideas of how we might approach your film

• Audio and Video of individual telling their own story.

• Audio/Video of individual looking through photographs, heir-looms, and mementos.

• Audio/Video of individual doing something they love.

• Audio/Video of one or more people reminiscing and telling sto-ries of someone they all love.

I love the creative process and I love creative collaboration. If you have a concept in mind for your film, I would be happy to hear it. There are parameters and constraints that might not allow certain ideas to come to fruition, but I want to hear your ideas!
