Our Mission — Nuestra Misión
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, has been serving the com-munity of South Ozone Park and beyond since 1923. We are a diverse multi-ethnic Catholic community in a neighborhood of people of many faiths. We are called in Baptism to proclaim the presence of Christ in Word and are nourished with the Body and Blood of Christ in Communion. We follow Jesus Christ proclaiming him to parish and neighborhood; and we use our gifts and talents to serve others.
La parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro ha estado sirviendo a la gente de South Ozone Park y los alrededores desde 1923. Somos una comunidad Católica diversa y muti-étnica en un barrio con gente de diferentes religiones. Estamos llamados por medio del Bautismo a proclamar la presencia de Cristo por medio de su Palabra y nos nutrimos con el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo en la Comunión. Arrangements for marriage should be made with a priest at least six months prior to the wedding date and reception. Call the Rectory to reserve the date. Call the Rectory to make an appointment with the pastor. The child’s birth certificate must be provided. Attendance at the baptismal class is required for parents and godparents. Any parishioner unable to attend Mass due to illness or old age, should contact the Rectory and arrange for a priest or extraordinary minister to bring them Holy Communion. La cantidad de pescados sobrepasaba sus es-peranzas. Cristo es generoso en la abundancia de los bienes que da. Al llevar a Simón a la pesca milagrosa, Jesús le hace sentir el poder que tiene de colmar todos sus deseos. Le hace comprender que solo en El se encuentran la solución de todos los problemas y la satisfacción a todas las aspiraciones. Lo invita a unirse unicamente a El.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed
every Tuesday morning from 9-12 for adoration in the lower Church.
The episode of the catch of fish along the lake indi-cates the attraction and the force of the Word of Jesus. He attracts people. He urges Peter to offer his boat to Jesus to be able to speak. The word of Jesus is so strong that it overcomes the resistance in Peter. It con-vinces him to cast the nets into the sea again and there is the miraculous catch. It overcomes in him the urge to leave Jesus and attracts him to become a fisher of men” (Luke 5, 10). This is the way the Word of God acts in us, even now!
Vocation Prayer Chalice Program in our Par-ish; This program encourages families to pray regular-ly for vocations to priesthood and consecrated life. Each week a family would receive the Vocational Chalice al Mass and take it home with a promise to “pray for vo-cations” during the week. The family would place the chalice in a prominent place in their home and would gather together each day to pray around the chalice ask-ing God to help raise awareness for vocations in our parish. Prayers booklets will be given to the family with a different prayer each day. At the end of the week, the family would bring back the chalice to the parish so the next family could take it home. We hope that through prayer, our parish may become a source of vocations to serve the diocese and the Church, if you are interested, please come to the sacristy after Mass to register. Programa de Oración del Caliz Vocacional en nuestra parroquia; Este programa tiene el proposito de motivar a las familias que oren regularmente por vacaciones sacerdotales y la vida consagrada. Cada semana una familia recibirá el Cáliz vocacional en la misa y se lo llevará a su casa con el compromise de “orar por las vocaciones” durante esa semana. La famil-ia pondrá el cáliz en un lugar adecuado en su casa y se reunirán cada dia alrededor del cáliz para orar, pidiendo la ayuda de Dios por las vocaciones en nuestra par-roquia. Use las oraciones sugeridas para cada del libro que se le ha entregado. Al final de la semana, la familia regresará el cáliz a la parroquia para entregarlo a la siguiente familia. Tenemos la esperanza que por medio de la oración nuestra parroquia será una Fuente de vocaciones para servir a la diócesis y a la iglesia. Si ust-ed está interesado, por favor inscribase en la sacristía despues de la misa, o hable con el Diácono Jorge llamandolo al 347-528-7536.
