Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebrations

Archdiocesan Celebration for Our Lady of Guadalupe - Sunday, December 11, 2016 Procession beginning at 10:00 AM at the Chancery (1700 San Jacinto St., Houston) proceeding to the George R. Brown Convention Center (1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston). Mass will begin at 5:00 PM celebrated by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo.

Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe The OLMC community is invited to take part in the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The celebration will begin on Sunday, December 11 at 12:00 AM with Mañanitas and prayer (no Mass). On Monday, December 12 there will be Mass at 8:30 AM in English and at 6:30 PM in Spanish.

Parish Advent Penance Service

We will have a Parish Advent Penance Service on Tuesday, December 13 at 6:30 PM in the Church. The Sacrament of Penance is an excellent way of preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ in glory. Confessions will be heard in English and Spanish.

With a deficit of $3,742.00 this week, we cannot operate the church. I beg you to take seriously your commitment to God through your church. Please consider increasing your offerings. Confirmation Christmas Bear Drawings Put a smile on a child's face and perfect for snuggling all night long! Confirmation II will be selling tickets for four 42" plush bears. Drawings will be held after each of the weekend Mass on December 17th/18th. Winners must be present to win. Tickets are $1 and proceeds will benefit the parish. 4th Sunday Candidates Session and Family Mass December's Fourth Sunday Candidates Session is rescheduled for Sunday, December 18th at 9:30 AM in the Parish Center. 2017 parents are invited to join their candidates at the 12:00 PM Family Mass on Sunday, December 18. No session will be held on December 25th.

Preparing for Next Sunday Fourth Sunday of Advent

The first reading reminds us that the promised Messiah was to be born of a virgin, and was to be named Emmanuel. The second reading exhort us, as followers of Jesus, to lead lives which are holy and pleasing to God. Today’s Gospel tells of Joseph being faithful to the command he received from the angel of the Lord to take Mary into his home as his wife.
