Our Lenten Journey Continues …….
REGULATIONS CONCERNING FASTING & ABSTINENCE
- Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of mandatory fasting and abstinence from meat. - All Fridays in Lent are days of mandatory abstinence from meat. - The obligation to fast applies to those aged 18-59. - The obligation to abstain from meat applies to those aged 14 and older. - Those fasting may eat only one normal-sized meal. Two smaller meals may be eaten, if needed for strength. These small meals together should not equal a normal-sized meal. No food may be eaten between meals. - The Bishops of the United States do recommend voluntary fasting on the other weekdays of Lent. It is a praiseworthy tradition to fast on Holy Saturday until Easter Vigil. - It is worth remembering that every Friday of the year is a day of penance, unless a solemnity falls on a Friday. In the United States, on Fridays out side of Lent, one may choose either to abstain from eating meat or to perform some other act of penance.

OLG’s SPRING Bereavement Group Meets for Seven Consecutive WEDNESDAYS from
MARCH 4th to APRIL 15th 2020 at 7:30 p.m. at OLG’s Community Room (Rectory Basement).
The goal of the Bereavement Group is to take you on a creative journey of self-discovery through personal stories, prayerful meditations, songs and crafts. An inner reflection will awaken you to recognize that Jesus is in your midst, especially during times of sorrow, as the disciples eventually became aware that it was Jesus walking with them on the road to Emmaus.

The 2020 Census is easy, safe and very important!!
Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a count of every person living in the United States. The 2020 Census helps determine how many representatives each state has in Congress. It informs how billions of dollars in federal funding will be allocated to communities for housing, schools, food assistance, transportation, health care, and other vital social services for the next 10 years. Your information is protected and never shared with law enforcement or any other agency, including ICE. Responses are used only to produce statistics. The Census Bureau does not disclose any personal information. It is short and easy to complete. It will NOT ask about citizenship, legal status, income, or social security number. Every household has the option to respond online, by phone, or by mail and in the language of their choice. Do not miss out on resources for yourselves and your communities. Be counted!
