Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
Merry Christmas to all!!! On behalf of myself, Deacon Tom Harley and the entire staff of Our Lady of Good
Counsel Parish, may you and your loved ones enjoy the blessings of love, peace, and joy, now and always. I also will take
this opportunity to thank all who make OLGC a vibrant and faith-filled parish not just at Christmas but throughout the
year. To all in liturgical ministry, especially our musicians and choir who spend so much time rehearsing and practicing
to make our worship services so beautiful, to all who teach our young in the ways of faith, to all who feed the hungry
through our pantry and soup kitchen, to all who visit the sick and imprisoned, to all who clothe the naked and educate the
most vulnerable through clothing drives, school supply drives and the Uganda mission, and to all who bring their unique
gifts and talents—through crafting, baking, or a hunger and thirst for justice—to our parish family, THANK YOU!!!
If you are traveling from far away, may you have safe passage home. And if you are traveling from nearby and
looking for a spiritual home, know that you are always welcome at OLGC. May God continue to shed His blessings upon
you all for a very Merry Christmas!!!
Sincerely, Fr. Michael Galuppi, Pastor

Sustainability/Environmental Ministry: Help OLGC
Go Green - We are in the process of examining the way we do
things and looking for “greener” options. We are hoping for
help in this new venture. Pope Francis argued for environ-
mental stewardship as a work of mercy. When we care for the
planet, we care for each other. Please join us and share your
concerns and ideas. If you are interested in working on this
ministry, please email [email protected] include:
your name, phone number and email address. Thank you.
Holiday Bags: Thank you to all the OLGC parishioners who donated to the Christmas Baskets. Your generosity gave many fami-lies in our community a wonderful Christ-mas Dinner. Without all of your help, this program would not be successful.
A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE from the
Office of Family Life Education (a Hope Appeal
Agency)
This Christmas remember your task as a parent is the same as Mary’s: We must not let our doubts, fears and unfulfilled expectations get in the way of our loving ACCEP-TANCE of our children.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Elementary RE Classes Resume on Sunday, January 8
and Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
The Next Session for Confirming Disciples (Grade 10) is Saturday, January 7, at 11:00 am. Please note the ear-lier start time to accommodate student completion of the
community service surveys.
Ugandan Mission Christmas Gift Cards enable you to give a gift of HOPE to those living in desperate poverty. Simply make a donation, in any amount, by writing a check to OLGC to continue our support of the 46 Iyolwan girls and send the card to your loved one informing them of your donation in their name. Please be sure to write “UGANDAN MISSION” in the memo space on your
check. Cards are available at all entrances of the church.
JOY BOXES: The cold weather has returned and with it the Joy Boxes. There are 2 boxes at the Grippen St. En-trance. It seems the safest place for them. Please donate the following items for pre K & Kindergarten children: mittens, hats, sweat pants with elastic waistband, packaged
underwear & small sneakers. They will be distributed to elementary schools in Endicott, Binghamton and at Head Start. If you have any questions, please call Ginny at 201-
9910. Thank you.
Our Sunday Bulletin is the primary way we communi-cate with our parish members. Through arrangement with Liturgical Publications, the parish does not pay for the bul-letin printing, which saves us thousands of dollars each year. Our bulletin is supported through the generosity of the advertisers, many of whom are our own parish mem-bers or members of the local community. We urge you to support our advertisers with your patronage. Tell the busi-ness owner that you appreciate their support of our parish
through their advertising in our bulletin.
Experience Volunteering at Lourdes Hospital: Do you have the desire to explore new opportunities while giving
back to the community? Come and Volunteer at Lourdes Hospital! For more information or a Volunteer Application
