TRADITIONAn aerial apparatus serves your department in a number of roles - it may be your front line engine, an elevated waterway, and/or a rescue resource. Through collaboration with our customers and their needs, the Spartan ERV team custom designs each of these elements into one specific multi-functional vehicle. Each day, we turn our customer’s innovative ideas into new features that are more practical for the evolving fire industry.

The Spartan ERV Aerial is an industry leader that continues to provide more value to your department through features such as the greaseless ladder sections (requires less service down time and a smoother operational performance). Value is not only measured by the lowest purchased cost, it also has to deliver performance, versatility, and reliability to those using the equipment in the field and in the shop.

Spartan Chassis is a world-class leader in the design and production of the most powerful and reliable emergency response cabs and chassis on the market.

The Gladiator® and Metro Star® are all purpose-built for the emergency response industry and offer varying degrees of customization allowing fire departments to meet their specific needs.

THE INDUSTRY’S BEST SAFETY SYSTEM.

Spartan has reaffirmed its commitment by developing the new Advanced Protection System® (APS) in our chassis. The APS is a safety system that contains a number of industry first features and significant improvements to existing safety standards.

* On average, there are over 4,300 firefighters injured per year in traffic accidents. The Advanced Protection System® (APS) from Spartan Chassis provides excellent protection but does not replace the need for every vehicle occupant to wear his/her seat belt.

Patented Lift Cradle directs powerful lifting forces into the underside of the ladder for maximum strength, minimum deflection, and longer life of cylinder bushings and seals. It also enables the ladder to lower to negative 10 degrees.

The waterway and monitor locking system provide a robust actuation lever that is ergonomically friendly and provides both an audible and visual indication to the turntable and tip operator if the system is not properly latched in the water tower, or rescue, position.

Our patented Roller Assisted Slide Pad (RASP) assembly reduces friction and stress on the ladder in the field, while eliminating the need to grease ladder rails in the shop.

AERIALPERFORMANCE

Innovative outriggers allow the apparatus to level on slopes up to 15 degrees and handle truck set-ups on severe terrain, without sacrificing upper compartment storage.

4

The Egress Tip is a safer and more comfortable transition from building to ladder and is replaceable if damaged.

The ladder area is wide open, all wiring and cables are placed on the outside of the rails to maximize the climbing area and safe for the firefighter.

An improvement on ‘old school’ single drives, Spartan ERV was one of the first in the industry to provide Dual Swing Drives to provide smooth rotation and less backlash. Removing (4) screws gives you total access to drive gears for simple adjustments.

During an emergency the last person you’re thinking of is yourself. That’s why Spartan ERV is committed to designing apparatus that assist firefighters in doing their job safely, day-in and day-out.

SMARTPERFORMANCE

LED lighting provides continuous illumination of the climbing areas of each ladder section.

Ergonomically designed easypull out Turn Table Access Stepsincrease safety.

Ladder Travel and Rest Cradle incorporates Spartan ERV’sVibra-Torq™ to eliminate ladder and cradle stress.

Manually leveling your apparatus is good, but having the apparatus automatically level for you, is great.

Unobstructed windshield, the Tillerman’s Cab maximizes operator’s view and improves safety.

Automatic Leveling SensorsSystem calculates the grade when the apparatus arrives to the scene and provides the operator with an indication of the slope condition and the percentage of available aerial performance allowed by that slope.

Laser guides provide visual representation if your apparatus is clear to set-up and also marks where to place your outrigger pads before the need to extend them.

At Spartan ERV, performance is demanded out of our products. Innovative features such as our unrivaled leveling capabilities, smoother aerial operation through our dual swing drives, and auto-stowing functions are great, but expecting them to perform for you day-in and day-out is our commitment to you.

Automatic Aerial Stow Automatically stow your aerial safely and accurately into the aerial cradle for road travel.

Cab and Body Collision AvoidanceAvoidance system monitors the position of the aerial, cab, and body to ensure safe operational parameters.

STORAGEDESIGN

The auxiliary power unit technology features the ability to automatically shut down the main engine, while allowing the APU to startup routinely. With the ability to be retrofitted to both new and existing engines and chassis, a Spartan ERV APU has low maintenance costs. Replacement belts for the APU are available at nearly all automotive stores nationally. There are three options available: 12 volt system, 8kW unit, and a 16kW unit.

features Compact size Low maintenance Units will heat and cool cab & charge the batteries Auto shut-down of main engine when interlocks are met Approximately 2/3 less fuel consumption

Pull out trays allow for maximized storage space.

Maximized compartment space on all aerial designs and models.

The torque box is designed to store the full NFPA compliment of ground ladders, with the option to store additional pike polls and hose.

Smart Storage around the wheel wells increases the amount of usable storage space in compartments.

The Smart Hose Loader is designed to be practical for the firefighter, without a big price tag.
