Key facts about SIFA FiresideKey facts about SIFA Fireside

Established in 2007 through a merger of SIFA (Supporting Independence from Alcohol) and the Fireside Charity

The two charities had over 50 years’ experience between them of working with marginalised people

Last year we had over 38,000 attendances at our daily City Centre ‘drop in’ sessions and over 2400 assessed service users

Wide range of local and national partners (e.g Crisis, Aquarius, Mind, Midland Heart)

Statutory funders include Adults and Communities, the Housing Dept, and NHS

Other funders include the Big Lottery

Twice weekly surgeries from the Homeless Nurses’ Team

A weekly chiropody session

A weekly surgery from the Homeless Alcohol Nurses

A weekly surgery from the Homeless Mental Health Team

A specialist alcohol service

Complementary therapies and counselling

Partners include Midland Heart, WM Fire Service & Birmingham Law Centre

We have two bilingual workers, a F/T Project Worker & a P/T Outreach Worker, + a small reconnection budget
