to attend. Any member may attend, but
only voting members may vote. Items on
the agenda this month include:

important meeting
to take part in the business of your or-

coming up, watch for announcements!
After the board meeting, the group will
be decorating for Christmas activities.
Please come and help so we can finish in
one day. A lot of hands make for quick
decorating!
The decorating committee has chosen green table-
cloths and gold centerpieces with a touch of red as
decorations for the EH Center for the holidays. Plans
are to decorate the center on Tuesday, November 28
right after the board meeting. 10:45 should be a good
time to come, if you do not want to attend the board
meeting.
Everyone is welcome and needed to come and help.
You can set the tables, decorate the tree, lend your
creativity to making wreaths, etc. There is a job for
everyone! With several hands, the Center should
come together quickly. Otherwise, the committee has
marked off Wednesday on the calendar to complete
decorating.

meeting on Monday, December 3. Registration will
begin at 5:30 p.m. with the program starting at 6:00.

There will be several categories to compete in. More
information on categories will be discussed at the No-
vember board meeting.
This will be a night of great fun and fellowship! Mark
your calendar!
“Get Real – Here’s the Deal” teaches youth the finan-
cial cost of being an adult with an income, a family
and having to make financial decisions in a simulated
real world situation. Volunteers help conduct the pro-
gram by acting as “real world” business. Students visit
stations where they purchase housing, cars, vaca-
tions, groceries, personal care items, insurance. They
must maintain and balance a check register, write
checks and make decisions based on their income and
family situation. Their goal is to have money left over
at the end of the day.
Volunteers are needed at each of the twelve stations.
The program is scheduled to be conducted at Nash-
ville High School on Tuesday, December 4 from 1:15
to 3:00. There will only be one
class participating in the pro-
gram.
If you would like to volunteer,
please let Jean know as soon as
possible. Individual training as a
station volunteer is available, however, you will catch
on fast with your role.
This program is a lot of fun and it really makes youth
think about the future in occupation, family matters
and the financial decisions they will face as an adult.
Call the office at 870-845-7517, if you would like to
volunteer.

Understanding Personalities
A sign of a great club is a group of members working
together as a team. When you have a group of peo-
ple, there is a mixture of different personalities!
Knowing what strengths and weaknesses a club mem-
ber has helps when working on projects. This also
works with your family and friends!
“Understanding Personality Styles” is
a program designed to help people
understand the characteristics of
four personality styles as well as
what builds up and what tears down
the esteem of each style. You will
learn which style is your strongest
and which is your weakest. This program will be the
lesson for the January club meetings.
There will be no leader training or board meeting in
the month of December. I am willing to come to your
club meeting and present the program. Please let me
know your club meeting date, time and
location. I look forward to visiting the
clubs in January and getting to know all
your club members. Please get me on
the calendar by December 14. If you
have any questions, feel free to contact
me at 870-845-7517.
Plans are being finalized for a trip to Jefferson, Texas
for the 36th Annual “Christmas Candlelight Tour of
Homes”. The tour is scheduled for Thursday, Novem-
ber 29. We will leave the EH Center at 9:00 a.m.,
have lunch, shop and begin the tour at 4:00 p.m. We
should return to Nashville around 10:30 p.m.
Tickets for the tour are $22.50 if purchased before
November 29. You will also need money for meals
and any purchases you make. If you are interested in
participating in this tour, contact the office at 870-845
-7517 by November 26. Discounted tickets will be pur-
chased online. You can purchase the day of the event,
but the price will in-
crease to around $25
per ticket. More infor-
mation about the tour
is in the board
meeting minutes from
October.
If you are interested
in attending, you
must call the office by November 26! Registration
fees will be due at that time.
Bake Sale
Howard County EHC will be hosting a bake sale on
Friday, December 7. Each member is being asked to
prepare three recipes of
their favorite holiday
“goodies”. You can make a
cake, cookies, breads, pies,
candy. Anything that does
not require refrigeration!
Please bring the items to Western Auto on Thursday
afternoon. Items should be packaged nicely and ready
to sell. More information about this project is listed in
the minutes from the October board meeting.
If you have any questions, feel free to call the office!
