What  are  intangible  assets?  

•  Defini:on  -  Intangible  items  

•  It  is  not  a  requirement  for  an  asset  to  be  tangible  in  order  to  be  recognised  

•  Iden:fiable,  non-­‐monetary    and  lack  physical  substance  

– Probable  that  future  economic  benefits  associated  with  the  item  will  flow  to  the  en:ty;  AND  

– The  cost  can  be  measured  reliably
