A Day in the Life of a Kindergartener...On Mondays, students will arrive from 9:45-9:55 (no breakfast

provided on Mondays). On Tuesday-Friday, students will arrive from 8:05-8:25 (breakfast is provided in the cafeteria at

this time). Every day, we will start our mornings off with calendar and a social-emotional lesson. Then we will have a whole group reading lesson followed by reading stations and reading small groups. After reading station time, we will have a whole group writing lesson followed by handwriting practice. Next, students go to lunch and recess. After recess, we have our whole group math lesson followed by math stations and

math small groups. Then we have our snack and imaginative play time. After our play time, we go to Specials (Art, Music, P.E., Library, or Counseling) and end our day with WIN time

(What I Need). We will then pack-up and students will be dismissed at 3:15.

Important Information

1. Student Absence – (719) 579-2111 ● If your child is going to be late or gone for the day, please call this

number as soon as possible. Also, if you need something within 24 hours, please contact this number.

2. Dismissal ● Bell dismisses at 3:15

● Bus: students will be escorted to the bus by teacher ● Child Care: students will be escorted bus by teacher ● Walkers: students will be dismissed at teacher's door ● Car Riders: will be escorted to the back hallway where they will

wait until parents pull up to get them ● Any student NOT picked up will be escorted into building and parent

notified by teacher. At 3:30 any student remaining will be in front office to await parents.

Important Information

❖ Color Chart➢ Color charts are used to encourage smart choices in

the classroom and foster positive behavior. Students will clip up or down on their chart based on their choices throughout the day.

❖ Planners➢ After Labor Day, students will start coloring in the day

of the week with their color for that day. Please check planners daily to see how your students day was!

❖ Thursday Take-Home Folders➢ After Labor Day, students will bring home a folder

with important papers on Thursdays. If there are any papers that need to be signed or turned back in to school, students will bring those back on Friday!
