First Come, First Serve!

We know what busy, crowded lives our patients of all ages lead. School, work, family, play, practice – where does the time go?

We want to give you every scheduling option possible. This is why we ask you to please try to schedule your next appointment when you’re here for today’s appointment. We schedule appointments every eight to 10 weeks – and as you can imagine, before and after school times are the most popular. If you wait a few weeks to schedule, those preferred appointments will likely be filled up.

We’ll do the best we can to fit our work in with yours. But we’d appreciate a helping hand by scheduling your appointment before you leave to make sure you get the time you want.

Thanks!

There’s no question that a strict routine of brushing and flossing your teeth at home combined with regular checkups and professional hygiene care will ensure a lifetime of oral health and a beautiful natural smile! When you are wearing braces, a high level of oral hygiene becomes critical to the treatment’s success.

We’ve produced a new progress report card for all patients 15 years and younger that rates their level of oral hygiene and cooperation, and now includes pictures that show clearly where they may need to focus some more attention. We’ve found these progress reports very effective … and even better, we offer great prizes for success!

Please make sure to inquire about this program at your child’s next appointment.

Your Sparkling Smile … For A Lifetime!

Flossing With BracesJust got easier! We understand that flossing while you’re wearing braces can be difficult

and challenging, and most kids certainly avoid it. But it really is important to floss in order to prevent plaque buildup and ultimately gum disease, either gingivitis (early-stage) or periodontitis (more advanced). Here are a few tips and product suggestions to make regular flossing easier and more effective.

First, make sure you rinse your mouth thoroughly before even attempting to floss. This will get rid of most of those pesky food particles that might be stuck between your braces and your gums. We provide Super Floss® from OralB® to get patients started.

Next, we provide a starter kit of DenTek™ flossers for braces that are well designed and easy to use. The DenTek system features an angled flosser to reach back teeth and a flexible bristled pick to get behind the braces. Refills are available at a reasonable price at most retail outlets like Walgreens, Target, Walmart, etc. and online at walmart.com and amazon.com.

Make flossing second nature – just like regular brushing – and your smile and oral health will thank you for years to come.

Making Your Life EasierWith email and text appointment reminders

We certainly do live in the age of information – and at Igel Orthodontics we try to take advantage of this brave new world in order to make communication with our patients easier and more efficient for both of us.

Our office is no longer using our third-party phone provider to confirm your appointments. Many of you found the system inefficient – or simply inconvenient – and we listened. So we will communicate appointment information via email and text reminders. We have automatically signed everyone up for email reminders, but for those who would like a text reminder as well, signing up is easy! Just log in from our website at www.kortigel.com and access the login screen. If by any chance you don’t remember your login information, please phone or email and we’ll be happy to help.

At first, some of these modern communication modes may strike you as impersonal, but as most of us have found out, once they’re a part of your lives you begin to find you can’t live without them. Please be sure to update us at your appointments advising of any email or cell number changes so we can update our records to ensure you always receive confirmation emails and texts (optional) of your upcoming appointments.

And of course, if you have any questions about these changes, please don’t hesitate to call us. We’re always happy to hear from you with any questions you may have!

Thank You For your generous referrals!

We are always delighted and excited to welcome new patients and their families to our practice. We make certain our relationship with patients is one of trust, honesty, and respect. But when you refer a family member, friend, or colleague to our practice, it

really does mean something special. Referrals are very important to us because they let us know that our commitment to our patients and our community is working and is appreciated.

Again, thank you for your trust, and we can’t wait to welcome someone new to the family!

We Need Your Help!

W e try our hardest to make sure we stay on schedule for

each and every one of our patient’s appointments throughout the day but sometimes we fall behind because a patient has turned up 10 or 15 minutes late, and still needs to be seen. We try very hard not to turn anyone away, but one or two delays can mean we’ll run behind on additional appointments throughout the day.

Sometimes we may simply have to reschedule your appointment in order to respect our other patients’ busy schedules. So please try your best to be here on time – and we promise to keep our side of the bargain as well! Thank you!

We Are Honored – Again! Igel Orthodontics goes for gold one more time!

For the fifth year in a row, Igel Orthodontics has once again been awarded Omaha Magazine’s Best Orthodontist Award. We’re delighted and deeply honored by this award, the 19th year that Omaha Magazine has published its comprehensive survey. This is a prestigious and coveted honor in our community, and we’re very grateful to everyone who participated and voted for our practice.

And … there’s even more good news! The Reader Magazine Awards has also selected Igel Orthodontics as their Readers’ Choice Top Orthodontist, also for the fifth year in a row. This award is people-driven as well, which makes the awards extremely special and welcome.

We’ve always been devoted to giving our patients and their families the very best in respectful, professional, and compassionate orthodontic care, using the very latest dental techniques and technologies. And frankly, it’s truly heart-warming – and humbling – to see that we are earning your trust.

The entire Igel Team is inspired by this, and will re-dedicate ourselves to make sure we keep on top of our game in the coming years. Our true inspiration is the satisfaction of our patients – so thank you all, and thank you Omaha!
