Chief guest Dr. Bihari focused on reflection of nature in Gangadhar’s life and literature. Chief guest Mrs. Mohanty informed about human values between Meher’s literature and the nature. President of the meeting Dr. Bugudei gave exemplary idea about how nature is alive in Meher’s literature. A Seminar titled “Yugasrasta Radhanatha” was organized by odia language and literature deptt. Of this college on dt: 03.01.2017. Dr. Narendrera Prasad Bugudei, reader in Odia and the Principal (I/c) of the college presided over the meeting. Dr. Prasanta ku. Das, H.O.D. of Odia of Dr. J.N. College, Rasalpur was invited as the chief Speaker in the seminar. Departmental faculties Dr. (Mrs.) Prativa Mohanty, Dr. Amarendra Mohapatra, Miss Anita Jena, Miss Mamata Barik and students of the meeting had attended the seminar. about different components of Radhanath’s literature. Chief Speaker Dr. Das delivered talk on many learning values of Radhanath’s literature. Dr. Mohanty spoke on the innovative ideas of Kabibara Radhanath, Miss Anita discussed about natures views in Radhanath’s literature. President Dr. Bugudei told about the heart touching eastern-western co-ordination of Radhanath’s literature. At the close of the seminar Miss Mamata Barik offered vote of thanks and the meeting ended with thanks to the chair. 40 no. participants remain present in this seminar.

A UGC sponsored state level seminar on “cultural values of odia” folk song was organized in Gopalpur college, Gopalpur , Balasore on date-27/02/2017 & date-28.02.2017 in joint collaboration with the odia department of Dr. J.N College, Rasalpur on the first day of the seminar Dr. Narendra Prasad Bugudei Reader in Odia and Principal (i/c) of the college presided over the meeting . Renowned laureate Dr. Bijayananda Sing, Reader in Odia of Salepur (Auto) college chaired as the chief guest, Dr. Sonamani Rout Reader in odia (P.G Dept.) of sailabala Women’s college, cuttack was the chief salepur and Dr. Prasanta Ku. Das, Reader in Odia of Dr. J.N college Rasalpur was the guest of honour in the seminar.

The meeting started with lighting of candle by the chief guest and other honourable guest and flowering garlands in the idol of Lord Jagannath. Dr. Jadunath Mishra, Reader in Sanskrit chanted Vedas and kumari Sarita shial ex-student of Odia department performed odhashi dance in this seminar. President of the meeting Dr. Narendra Prasad Bugudei gave introductory address and presented his valuable expressions on the topic organizing secretary DR. (MRS) Prativa Mohanty, Sr.Lect. in ODIA of the host college told how odia folk song touches the life of people. Chief speaker Dr. Rout explained how folk song is popular in our social life, traditions and cultural. The chief guest Mr. sing delivered his speech on the impact on folk song on usha brata. Honourable guest Dr. Das told aboput the features of folk-song.

In the afternoon session, the participants from different colleges presented their manuscripts on the topic. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Mamata Brik, Lect. in Odia of the host college..

In the second day of the seminar on date-29.02 2017 Dr. Jadunath Mishra, Reader in Sanskrit of this college presided over the, meeting. Dr. Banamali Behera, Reader in Odia and principal of Belavomi Mhavidyalaya Avana was invited as the chief speaker. Dr.(Mrs) Prativa mohanty , MS Anita Jena, Dr. Amarendra Mohapatra , Ms Mamata Barik of the host college and Dr.Avaya ku. Das Belavomi Mhavidyalaya Avana expressed their views on the topic “cultural values in odia folk-song “. The students of the dept. took part in the question-answer session. The meeting ended with vopte of thanks by Dr. Amarendra Mohapatra Lect. in odia of this college. 75 no. participants remain present in this seminar of first and second day.

32 nos. of students attended the seminar. 3 nos. of student read out the papers on the topic.Objective: Man objective of learning Sanskrit is to know the treasury of morality. By knowing values of morality and ethics the students would practice them in their day to day life. Thereby they can form a good society with moral values.

The objective was fulfilled by the seminar.

Topic : Relationship among man and Gods in Vedic literature.Date : 08.05.2017 Resource Person: Prof. Ajaya Kumar Parida Lect. in Sanskrit.

Objective of the Seminar: The students of Sanskrit would have knowledge on the Vedic sacrifice that our fore fathers practice in their life. Further, they would follow their path to lead heavenly life.

UGC SPONSORED NATIONAL SEMINAR IN SANSKRIT (28.01.2017 and 29.01.2017)

UGC sponsored national seminar in Sanskrit was organised by the Department of Sankrit, Gopalpur college, Gopalpur, Balasore in collaboration with Bagaban Chandra Sanskrit Collge, Jgeswarpada, Balasore and it was inaugurated by Dr. Brajakishore swain Retd. Prof. And H.O.D of Dharma Sastra, Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University Puri at 10.30 A,M on 28.01.2017 (Saturday). Dr, Narendra Prasada Bugudei principal, Gopalpur college, president in the inaugural session. Dr. Jadunatha Mishra, H.O.D Sanskrit introduced the guest in Sanskrit language and Prof. Rabindra Kumar Sahoo, the organising secretary of the seminar read out the objective of the seminar topic i,e “concept of Shraddha in Aryan Culture”. Along with the synopsis of the seminar.

The chief speaker Dr. Arjun Ranjan Mishra, H.O.D IN Sanskrit of Biswavarati Santiniketrana focussed on the concept of shraddha in vedic period enumerating different quotations for vedic literature. Prof. Brajakishore Sain, chief guest stressed on the concept of shraddha in human culture. He said in Rigved, it is mentioned that the dead parents (pitrs) have relation with the deities and Gods as they receive hobbies in the sacrifice concentrated simultaneously. The honourable speaker Dr. Sitansu Vusan Panda, H.O.D Dept. Of Dhrama shastra, Rastriya Sanskrit Vidya pittha Tirupati focused on Indian culture which is not only practised by Aryans but also the Dravidians and others.

First inaugural session ends at 2.30 p.m with vote of thanks to the chair persons and delegates.

In the first technical session Dr. Arjun Ranjan Mishra presided over the meeting and Dr. S.B. Panda was the rapporteur. Dr. Madhusudan Mishra was the chief speaker and Prof. Nirmal Chandra Panda was honourable speaker. Four scholars red out research papers on the topic and few questions and answers were discussed.

In the second technical session Dr. Madhusudan Mishra controller of Sri Jagannath Sanskrit Viswa Vidyalaya presided over the meeting and Dr. Basant kumar Mishra H.O.D Sahitya dept. Of S.J.S.V was the co-ordinator. Seven papers were presented and few question answers were discussed in this session.

Dr. Narendra Prasada Bugudei, the Principal of the College presided over the meeting. Dr. Basant Kumar Mishra H.O.D Sahitya dept. Of S.J.S.V graced the chair of chief guest and Prof. Kailash Chandra Mishra graced as the chief speaker. Dr. Jadunath Mishra H.O.D spoke on the successful conduct of the seminar and Prof. Rabindra Kumar Sahoo, the organising secretary discussed on the fulfilment of the objective of the seminar. Dr. Basant Kumar Mishra praised the whole activities. Dr. Kailash Chandra Mishra spoke on the future of the Indian culture, especially the observation of rituals and Shraddhas which can unite the Indians and not to follow blindly the foreign culture. A few students shared their two days experience. They expressed their gratitude to all who have taken pain in coming such a riral college and sharing their views for them. Dr. Narendra Prasad Bugudei, the Principal and chair person of the session spoke with heartily gratefulness to the scholars and resource persons and finally the organising secretary extended vote of thanks. The scholars camr from different colleges also expressed thankfulness to this institution and to the UGC for funding to organise such seminars.

In the post 2nd world war period the efforts of U.N.O and constitutional protocols of democratic Nations and the newly emerged independent nations are no drought remarkable man in the present day world live amidst myriad of Rights, yet violation of these rights are found and these need ameliorations. The seminar was attended by 41 students.

Synopsis:

Secularism which derived from the word ‘Seculam’ specifically meant for earthly and not connected to heavenly objects. It treats all man as citizens with Plethora of freedom and keeps religion at the Bay of Privet affairs. Indian secularism believes in ‘SARBA DHARMA SAMANWAYA’ and upliftment of all. Despite a secular constitution India and its political elites are in many occasions attributed with Pseudo secular and not sticking to the core meanings. India a multi-cultural country can in no way able to succeed and go ahead with exclusive nature of governance and polity. Equality and in partial treatments to all sects are necessary. 41 students participated in the seminar.

TOPC- “Is Liberty is the Highest Social value” (National level)

Date- 28.02.2017 to 01.03.2017

A UGC sponsored National level seminar was organised by the Department of political science with active collaboration with Dr. Jadunath College, Rasalpur on the title “Is Liberty is the Highest Social value”. Prof. Biswanatha Sahu, the Head of the Department was its organizing secretary. The seminar continued from 28.02.2017 and 01.03.2017. 100 numbers of participants from different colleges of Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj district of Odisha attended the programme. The participants include the faculties, students, elites, media persons and eminent academicians. The programme was conducted as per scheduled programme printed and circulated to the participants. The seminar opened with inaugural address of the principal of the college Dr. Narendra Prasad Bugudei. It followed by the brief key notes address produced by prof. Biswanath Sahu, the organizing secretary.Prof. Mahaswar Mishra, the senior Lecturer of the Department introduced the guest on the dias. In the first session of the seminar Prof. Dr. Shyam sundar Acharya, former Prof. of Social science of Fakirmohan University discussed on the fundamental issues related to freedom and liberty. The same ios related to equity, Law, Justice, rights, duties and fraternity. Another guest of Honour Dr, Gauri Sankar Panda, the principal of the collaborating college highlighted on the licence and liberty as well as self motivate spirit to the present day’s people thwarting away the principles of liberty.

The chief guest of the seminar Prof. Dev Narayan Modak, former Director Humanities and Social science of Netaji Subas Bose open University, Kolkata gave a very stantorian address on usefulness licenceousness of liberty. Prof. N.K Biswal, H.O.D of political science of collaborating college offered vote of thanks.

In the afternoon, Technical session Prof. Umakanta Dash H.O.D of political science, Nilgiri college Nilgiri rapporteur , Prof. Dr. Mukti kanta Tripathy H.O.D political science, Belabhomi college, Avana, Prof. Shasikanta Parida Reader L. N Mohavidyalaya Jamasuli and Maheswara Mishra of the organising college presented paper. After questionnaire session the first day of the seminar was concluded with vote of thanks.

The second day programme began with Prof. Shyam Sundar Acharya as chair person and Dr. Rama krushna Pradhan of P.G Department of Social science, Fakir Mohan University as Resource Person. Prof. Maheswar Mishra coordinated the seminar. The discussion on excess of Liberty, Miss use of Liberty and restriction on liberty was carried on. Prof. Gauri sankar Panda, Principal of the Collaborating colleges and Prof. Bhagaban Prusty of Sidheswar college, Amerda road attended the programme as other resource person. After deliberation with the participant the valedictory ceremony was organised and vote of thanks was offered to all organising secretary after closing speech of the principal Dr, Narendra Prasad Bugudei.

Topic: “Agricultural Growth in India”

A Departmental Seminar on the topic “Agricultural Growth in India” was organised by the Dept. of Economics on date 16.11.2016. The seminar was presided over by the Principal of our College Dr. Narendra Prasad Bugudei. Rama Sankar Mishra, Reader in Economics, Dr. J.N. College, Rasalpur, Balasore and Ananta Kumar Roy, Reader in Economics, Belavoomi Mahavidyalaya, Avana attended the Seminar as a Resource person. 35 nos. students attended the Seminar.Objectives:

Objectives:

The paper should not be wasted. Teachers can make children aware of the importance of trees & how paper is manufacture ask children to stop washing paper.

Children’s should be guided to save eater and not to leave the tap running in washroom.

A departmental Seminar on the topic “ROLE OF GOURMOHAN DAS AND BIDYADHAR RATH OF SRIJUNG FOR ABOLITION OF CHOWKIDARI TAX “ was organized by organizing secretary cum faculty member Mr. Prafulla Kumar Behera, Lecturer in History of Gopalpur College, Gopalpur, Balasore under Presidentship of Dr. Narendra Prasad Bugudei, Principal of Gopalpur College, Gopalpur, Balasore on 31.08. 2016 at 11.00 A.M. in the Department Room. Mr. Krushna Chandra Das , Lecturer in History of Kiss College, Bhubaneswar addressed the seminar as Resource Person. Other eminent members of the seminar are Mr. Lakmikanta Sahoo, HOD in History and 40 members were remain present in this seminar. The objectives of the seminar are how Mr. Bidydhar Rath and Gouramohan Das played vital role in abolition of Chukidari Tax in Srijung and its adjacent village.

An orbital is a mathematical function called a wave function that describes an electron in an atom .Radial wave function for a given atom depends only upon the distance r from the nucleus. Angular wave functions depend only upon the direction and in effect describe the shape of an orbital. The wave function is a complex value of probability amplitude. The most common symbols for a wave functions are the Greek letterφ. Wave function mathematically describes the wave characteristic of a particle. Each wave function has two parts, the radial part which changes with distance from the nucleus and angular part which changes correspond to different shape. The Seminar is attended by 10 students covering +3 first year Chemistry honors student.

Topic : Thermocouple Date- 16.11.2016Resource Person : Mr. Shridhar Behera

Synopsis Thermocouple is a device which converts thermal energy into electrical Energy. A

thermocouple comprised of at least two metals joined together to form two junctions. One is connected to the body whose temperature is to be measured. This is hot or measuring junction. The other junction is connected to the body of known temperature, this is cold or reference junction. Therefore thermocouple measures unknown temperature of the reference to the known temperature of the other body.

Working PrincipleIt mainly depends on three effects

namely Seebak, Pettier, and Thompson. Advantages Accuracy is high. Thermal reaction is fast. Operating range of temperature is wide Cost is low and extremely consistant.

Application These are used as the temperature sensors in thermostats in offices, homes and

business. These are used in industries for monitoring temperature of metals in iron, aluminum

and metal.The seminar is attended by 16 students covering +3 1 st year physics honours students.

Synopsis :Energy is the ability to do work such as

moving matter over a distance or causing a heat transfer between two objects at different temperatures. Energy can take different forms; Heat, light electricity and chemical energy.

This seminar specifically meant for acquiring knowledge about energy and which may it can transmit in ecosystem. This seminar is attended by 10 numbers of students of +3 1st year science.

A departmental seminar was organised on “MUSHROOM CULTIVATION” 22/09/2016. Pritijinta Senapati presented the topic. Prof. Sibanarayan Mohapatra, Reader in Botany of J.N. College, Jamsuli as a research person .13 No. of students present in the seminar. The faculties of this Dep. Took part in the discussion. The seminar was ended with vote of thanks. Mushroom cultivation is less expensive, mushroom is easily digestible, more proteinaceous & cholesterol free.
