Many Ukrainian speakers use I propose when they want to

make a suggestion.

It is very formal and it also means you want to get married.

Use: How about …?

Agreeing/disagreeing politely

Agreeing is easy, but what about disagreeing?

Be polite!

• Correct: Yes, but

• Incorrect: No

• Correct: Well, I’m not sure it’s such a good idea

• Incorrect: It’s a bad idea
