    Sustainable Selangor Conference and Exhibition 2014, with the theme, 'Selangor State – Model ofSustainability' is being organised by the Centre for Environment, Technology and Development,Malaysia (CETDEM) with the support of the Selangor State Government and in collaboration withMajlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ). This 1 day event will held on Saturday 29 March 2014 atDewan Sivik MBPJ, and will be Officially Opened by YAB Menteri Besar Selangor.

    Sustainable Selangor Conference and Exhibition 2014 aims to provide concrete evidence thatSelangor is the most developed state in the Federation of Malaysia because of the many SustainableInitiatives which have been adopted by the State Government Administration and Agencies, PrivateSector and Civil Society Groups.

    Highlights of the Conference (9am – 5pm) include: 'Current Thinking on Sustainable Selangor' will be presented by Selangor State Government; 'AGENDA 21 Selangor – Looking back at the Master Plan for a Sustainable Selangor' will

    be presented by YBhg Datin Paduka Dr Halimaton, former Selangor Director of Town &Country Planning;

    'Petaling Jaya - Leading towards a Dynamic and Sustainable City' will be presented byMBPJ, most successful implementer of Local Agenda 21 in Peninsula Malaysia, GreenRebates on Assessment (only Local Authority in Asia, 2nd in the World);

    Case Studies & Discussion Panel by Private Sector Companies; Case Studies & Discussion Panel by Non-govermental Organisations; Case Studies & Discussion Panel by Government Linked Companies and Agencies.

    Highlights of the Exhibition (9am – 8pm) include: Selangor based Environmental NGOs and groups which champion Sustainability such as

    CETDEM, EPSM, MENGO, MCCG; Organisations based in Selangor who have Sustainability credentials in the following

    sectors:◦ Education;◦ Hospitality;◦ Construction;◦ Manufacturing;

    ◦ Finance;◦ Transport;◦ Agriculture;◦ other NGOs;

    ◦ Other Businesses andEnterprises.

    A Public Lecture on Sustainable Cities in Europe (6:00 – 7:30pm) is being arranged with HisExcellency Mr Luc Vandebon, Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Malaysia and a few of fellowEU Ambassadors as speakers, immediately after the Conference. This will be a prelude to theEARTH HOUR which is on between 8:30 – 9:30pm

    200 participants for expected the Conference and around 5,000 visitors to the Exhibition consistingof 50 indoor booths and 8 outdoor tents. Participation in the Conference will be at a nominalregistration fee of RM50 per person, while entrance to Exhibition is Free of Charge.
