Gurukulam has issued admission notification in Eenadu Telugu daily
newspaper for calling applications for admission into 1st year
Intermediate for the academic year 2017-18 vide reference. The
following guidelines are issued with regard to admissions into 1st
year intermediate for the academic year 2017-18 in Gurukulam Jr.
Colleges and Upgraded Junior Colleges. 01. ADMISSION
COMMITTEE
In ITDA areas
Chairman : Project Officer, ITDA
Convener : Principal of RJC/URJC located in ITDA Head Quarters or
nearby ITDA Head quarters (as indicated in Annexure- I)
Members : Principals of remaining RJCs/URJCs in the ITDA
area/District
In Non- ITDA areas
Chairman : DTWO
Convener : Principal of one of the Jr.Colleges (as indicated in
Annexure-I)
Members : Principals of Other Jr.Colleges in the district.
Important Note:
a. No PTG Student is denied of admission. b. The Project Officers
of ITDAs/DTWOs Non-ITDAs districts should provide admission to the
extent of sanctioned strength only.
c. In case of extra seats required, POs of ITDAs & DTWOs of
Non-ITDAs should send the proposals to the Secretary, Gurukulam for
prior permission. Basing on the feasibility necessary orders will
be issued.
02. ENTRY POINT
Admissions shall be made into 1st year Intermediate in MPC,
BPC
CEC, HEC & MEC in the existing General groups and A&T and
CGA
Vocational groups only.
03. UNIT OF ADMISSION: a) Concerned district is the unit of
admission where Colleges are
available.
b) In certain districts, there are no colleges. In this regard, @ 5
seats in each group (general groups only) will be available for ST
Students of such districts in the colleges of attached
districts.

04.RESERVATION OF SEATS
a) Reservation of seats for other communities i.e., SC/BC/OC/AEQ in
APTWR Jr.Colleges is as follows:

The candidates who have got admission under the category of Agency
Employee Quota (AEQ) and having parental annual income more than
one lakh are not eligible for any kind of amenities. If they
desires, diet will be provided on payment of actual amount of
monthly per capita. However, they will be provided free
accommodation.
If seats allotted to other categories i.e., SC, BC, OC and AEQ
are
found to be vacant they can be filled with available ST Students.
Whereas seats allotted to STs can’t be filled with other candidates
even if they are vacant.
3% of seats are reserved for Physically Handicapped Tribal Students
in all Gurukulam Institutions within the existing seats reserved
for STs. If the Physically Handicapped Tribal Students are not
available, these seats can be filled with other STs only.
(01) One seat is reserved for talented STs in Sports & Games in
each group with valid certificate (National Level & State
Level). If suitable student is not available then those seats will
be filled with STs only.
OC, means, Open competition. Any student, who secured highest grade
in SSC examination, is to be considered under Open
competition.
b) Reservation of seats for PTGs in all APTWR Colleges:
i) Reservation of seats for Primitive Tribal Groups in all APTWR
Colleges Except at APTWRJC (B) Chittedu (which is meant for Yanadi)
is mentioned in the annexure II.
ii) Further out of the total seats reserved for PTGs, 50% are
reserved for various groups within the PTG community as per
population and 50% seats are kept open for all PTGs.
iii) In case the seats reserved for PTGs are vacant, they may be
filled up with Gen. ST students.
c) Reservation of seats for Yanadis in APTWRJC(B), Chittedu
(40+5=45),

In case of any seats reserved for Paki Yanadis are not filled up,
they may be filled up by Challa Yanadis and if still they are not
filled, the seats may be kept open for all other Yanadis.

05. ANNUAL INCOME OF PARENT
The Annual Income of the parent shall not be more than the income
prescribed for the eligibility to Post Matric Scholarship i.e.
Rs.1,00,000/- p.a. as per Rc.No.G.O.Ms.No.140, TW (Edn.II) Dept.,
dt. 14.07.2008..
06. ADMISSION CRITERIA a) The basis for selection is the Grade
point Average (GPA) obtained
in SSC Examination or its equivalent. Option will be given to the
student on Group & College basing on the merit in SSC. The
Groups available in each College and the number of seats in each
Group is placed at Annexure-III.
b) In English medium RJCs, preference should be given to the
students
who have Studied SSC in English medium on order of merit of
GPA
in SSC. The leftover seats shall be filled up by Telugu
medium
students as per merit.
c) In Telugu medium RJCs, admission should be given to the
students
who studied SSC in Telugu/English medium on order of merit of
GPA in SSC.
d) In case of Tie in GPA (i.e., equal grade points average) secured
by more than (2) students, the following procedure shall be
adopted.
I) In the case of admission into MPC/Bi.PC/MEC:
i) Student has to compulsorily submit the GPA (subject wise grade
points) SSC Marks Memo or online Print out issued by Board.
ii) The Grades secured in Mathematics for MPC/MEC and Gen.
Science for BiPC should be taken into consideration for deciding
the priority.
iii) The Date of Birth of the student (priority shall be given to
the senior) II) In the case of admission into Arts and Vocational
groups.
i) Student has to compulsorily submit the GPA (subject wise grade
points) online Print out issued by Board.
ii) Grads secured in Social studies for Arts Groups and English for
Vocational Groups should be taken into consideration for deciding
the priority. iii) The Date of Birth of the student (priority shall
be given to the
senior)
e) The following is the order of preference for admission
counselling.
i) Who passed SSC Examination in first attempt in March 2017
(Without supplementary). ii) Candidates who passed S.S.C.
examination in one attempt in the previous Years (without
supplementary). iii) Compartmental pass candidates with a minimum
of 5 GPA (50% of Marks) only after exhausting the candidates who
passed SSC in one attempt.
iv) Candidates who secured a minimum of 5 GPA in Mathematics
and General Science each are eligible for admission into MPC, MEC
and who secured 5 GPA marks in General Science are eligible for
admission into BPC. For admission into CEC/HEC groups candidates
with a pass in X class in first attempt and in the case of
compartmental candidates only those who secured 5 GPA or an
aggregate of 50% of marks are eligible.
f) In the case of admissions into Vocational Courses a pass in SSC
at a time or compartmentally is enough.
07. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONVENER i. He shall give publicity by
sending copies of press note already issued
by Head office with counselling date to all the Govt., Municipal,
ZP and ashram High schools in the district besides displaying on
the Notice Boards of important Govt. Offices like ITDA, RDO, MPP,
MRO etc., All the Principals shall issue press note in district
editions of all news papers duly indicating group wise availability
of seats in their college, dates of admissions, venue for
counselling etc.
ii. No student will be allowed for counselling without bringing the
original certificates of SSC and TC.
iii. Merit student attended on the day of counselling shall
be
considered, even though he didn’t apply previously.
iv. The convener Principal has to take latest position of seats
according to Group wise sanctioned strength from all the colleges
in the district and submit the same to the chairperson of the
admissions committee for approval and to take up admission
counselling on 25-05-2017.
v. He shall invite the other Principals of Residential Schools
/
Colleges to participate in counselling. The allotment of groups and
Colleges to the students should be made through counselling only.
Admission letter/card shall also be given to the candidates
immediately after finalization of admission mentioning the college
and group allotted, after taking the original certificates of SSC,
TC, CC, Caste and income certificates. If any student did not
produce any certificate (original), an under taking should be taken
from the student stating that the same will be produced in a
week.
vi. The Principals of all Colleges are instructed to attend one
day
before to the counselling centre to make arrangements and depute
(1) Senior Assistant (3) days before to the Convener Centre. In
order to Co-ordinate the work at Counselling Centre.
