Classification of institutions:

1. ST Residential Schools:

• Out of 284 Residential institutions functioning in Gurukulam (80) are Residential Schools including 12 PTG schools and 3 Schools of Excellence 61 are colleges, 102 are KGBVs and 41 are Mini Gurukulams.

• 45 Residential Schools are meant for boys and 32 Residential Schools are for girls and (3) SOEs for Co-education.

• Entry point in (65) Residential schools is V class. Each class will have two sections. In each section there are 40 students in PTG School class III is the entry point and in SOE the entry point is VIII class.

• Total strength of each school with classes 5th to 10th is 480 in (65) Schools

and (640) in (12) PTGs schools.

• English is the medium of instruction with State Syllabus in all these schools.

• In schools of Excellence classes are from 8th to 12th with a strength 450 (8th

to10th @ 90 students in 3 sections and 11th to 12th @ 45 students in each

MPC and BPC)

2. PTG (Primitive Tribal Group) Residential Schools:

• Out of (284) Residential Institutions, (12) Residential Schools are meant for

PTGs category. Out of which, (10) for boys, (2) for girls. The (2) Residential

Schools for Yanadis at Nellore district are also included in this category.

• The entry point in these schools is 3rd class.

• The medium of instruction is English from class 3rd to 10th.

• The Students studying Telugu medium in 4th class will be promoted to 5th class

(English Medium).

• 3% of seats reserved for PTG physically handicapped students under PTG

reservation quota.

• Admissions will not be given to other tribal students in these PTG institutions.

The distribution of seats will be done, proportionately to the population of

different PTG communities in the concerned area.

• In respect of PTG Res. Schools at Nellore district i.e., Chittedu and Somasila,

admissions will be given to Yanadi students belongs to Nellore, Prakasam,

Guntur, Kadapa, Chittoor Districts and from Srisailam ITDA area only.

• Admission will be provided through drawl of lots including backlog vacancies.

SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE (Co-Education)

Centers for excellence are evolved to bring out the innate abilities of the

brilliant ST students so as to accelerate them as aspirants of IIT, IIIT, NITJEE and

MBBS etc. In order to achieve this, it is felt necessary to arrange coaching in a

scientific manner on long term basis, providing special attention right from the 8th

class to intermediate level with the help of committed faculty.

The Government have started (3) Schools of Excellence at Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram

District, Bhadrachalam, Khammam District and Srisailam Kurnool, District vide G.O.Ms.No:42, Social Welfare (TW Edn-I) Dept., dt:31-05-2005 with the advice of Sri Chukka Ramaiah, renowned educationist.

SANCTIONED STRENGTH :

These schools will have classes from 8th to Intermediate. There are (3)

sections from class 8th to 10th @ 30 students in each section and 45 seats for MPC

and 45 seats in BPC in Intermediate. Hence the total strength in school section is

270 while in college the strength is 180.

Education) (3) College of Excellence are started in the year 2005-06 to provide necessary coaching to prepare to student in Intermediate to appear in competitive exams like IIT, JE & EAMCET and other Medical Colleges vide G.O.Ms.No.55 SW (TW.Edn.II) Dept., dt.6-7-2006. ADMISSIONS:

Admissions are provided only to ST students based on merit in Entrance Test

prior to the implementation of RTE Act. Now the admissions are made by drawl of

lots from the 7th class passed out students of the catchment districts to each

school for admissions in to 8th class as given under.

Entry test will be conducted for X passed out students for admission in to 1st

year intermediate in colleges of excellence and also for left over seats in

Admissions to the Intermediate are based on the merit in Entrance

Test from among the students belongs to catchment area. The test

will be on 10th standard for 100 marks (Maths – 25 , Physical science -

25, Natural science – 25, English - 25).

In Schools of Excellence the students passed in 10th class will be

given admission in Intermediate without any entrance test. The

leftover vacancies will be filled through the Entrance Test conducted

at State Level.

SELECTION OF STAFF :

Selection will be made through State level written test, Demo & Interviews

by selection committee from among the interested Gurukulam Staff who are

willing to work in these institutions.

Teachers will also be selected on out sourcing basis with a suitable

attractive remuneration following the rigorous selection procedure like Written

Test, Interview and Demo under the Guidance of Sri Chukka Ramaiah, renowned

educationist.

INCENTIVES TO THE STAFF: The incentives shall be given to the Principals, JLs and Teachers @ Rs.2500/- RS.2000/-

and Rs.1600/- per month respectively as they have to handle additional workload by

way of assignments, correction / valuation and extra classes. Apart from this

incentive an amount upto Rs.2.50 lakhs shall be given to the teaching and non-

teaching staff as performance linked incentive.
